Lolo Pass Rd, Rte #12, has been resurfaced in sections most years.   The linked article talks of resurfacing 2 sections of about 25 miles each this summer.  If it's chip seal (darn near 100% probability) the crews can't work unless the road surface temperature is 80F+ (per contract) - I asked them once when stopped (they use infrared thermometer).

On the Lolo Pass route this has meant chip sealing starts 2nd week July; they've done ~6 miles a day - so each 25 mile section will be done easily in a 5 day week, starting in July.  This contractor, Knife, has been the same one doing the work for years so the timing and performance should be identical.

So no impact for Bun Cooler in mid-May.  (Can't speak to the bridge re-work schedule.)

Thanks for clearing that up Tim. I can say that makes sense as I used to work for a company out of Bellevue that did chip seal. :beerchug:

Even more treacherous than road work on Lolo is the infamous officer friendly. We played cat and mouse with him last year with no fun fee's paid  ;)

Aye. And was promptly replaced. He was a good dude though when we met. Not the same grumpy bastid. Had a bit of love about him.

They are replacing two bridges and chip sealing 23 and 27 miles for a total of 50 miles, with delays up to 2 hrs.

There are lots of other good rides, like Elk City, as well as all the grades. It would take you a week to ride them all and your tires would be worn out on the outside.

Question on the campground tenting area, are the sites assigned or is it an open area? I'm not wanting to lock in a reservation yet.

Not entirely sure but this rally could be in my travel plans. I did do the Elk City turn and burn last year. Awesome general store there.

I talked to the Lewis-Clark resort this week and they said they are getting booked up in May. You need to make sure you get a reservation for the 3rd weekend of May, which the Fri. - Sat. is the 18-19.

We have a reservation on the tent side, but thinking of double booking in hopes of getting someone to come into a water, electricity site with us. :campfire:

Mr Wallet, your not doing any thing wrong cause registration isn't open yet. For now the best thing to do is make sure you have a place to stay. Now that March is here it should not be too terribly long before registration is opened up.

I just got back from Arizona and am starting to work on getting things together. I am trying to get hold of the guy that does the pigs to make sure he can do it this year and the price. I'm hoping to get everything together and registration set up in a couple of weeks.

So I am struggling with a event to match the great Breakfast Burrito cook off for OtP. I'm thinking I ask the Counterweight to bake up some Chocolate covered Bacon and sell this crack for a buck a bag. Once you taste this you won't go back. Anybody else want to play in a bake sale? Don't play with me now. You know you want it. I may even throw in a peanut butter dipping sauce.  :beerchug: :)

Is this Jim or Glena? Judy is now in Austria but I expect her back soon. She's a Euro now so she probably (DELETED). Besides we all know Charlie was her first.  :beerchug: :)
