I stumbled on it looking for a Yamaha...I didn't know the earlier years were carbureted ('98 CBR1100XX carby here), and yes it is effortlessly fast. Not terrifying enough, it's planted steady at triple digit speeds.

It had a really sloppy cam chain noise but a little research yielded that it's common and an easy fix with a manual tensioner. It's the tensioner that goes bad, not the cam chain.
So that drove down the price and was a $30 fix.
Classic Honda fit and finish, it comes apart and goes back together well.
Seat hurts my big butt, I've re-done enough seats that this one won't be bad. I already have everything at hand to make it better on my bountiful booty.
The linked brakes feel like wood, and with 20 year old lines, that's the only real outlay of cash I need to make here. It's so smooth, and has such good street manners...it could tour very well. I'm getting 40 mpg haulling a$$ on the interstate and the chain is acceptable because there's a center stand.
So here's this summer's hot weather bike while my Connie gets suspension and bearings and tires all around, and maybe a re-paint. It's not toothpaste-blue
enough. Needs glitter.
