Back in the olden days, before CV carbs and fuel injection, if you opened the throttle at low rpms , your engine would lug or bog.  The velocity through the carbs would be too low to atomize the fuel and your engine would run rough, shake, and accelerate very slowly.  Your engine was not happy and let you know it.  In my opinion, you cannot make a C10 lug.  At 30 mph in 6th gear go to wide open throttle and it will accelerate smoothly and the rate of acceleration will increase as your rpms rise.
