Dropped my bike
« on: November 02, 2017, 12:56:44 am »
Last Friday I rode up to Brunswick, Georgia for the day.  I went to St. Simons Island and parked at an angled parking space on a side street.  As I was leaving later on in the day, I was backing out and going forward.  An SUV coming from the opposite direction came and took my parking space.  Before he got to the parking space, he passed me and I saw I could make a U-turn.  At that time, I didn't know he was going to park in my space.  As I'm in the process of turning, he backs out without even checking to see if anyone was coming.  If I didn't stop, he was going to hit me.  So I ended up dropping my bike as I'm doing the turn and landing on my left side.  I twisted my back and my right wrist.  He apologized because he didn't check to see if the road was clear.  I got on my bike and rode home.   I was in a lot of pain.  I have a nice bruise on my left hip.  I did go to the chiropractor and she straightened me out.  I'm grate there was no damage on the bike. I was more concerned about my bike than me at the time.

I learned that when I go and park, back in so that I can go forward when I'm leaving.

You be careful out there. (as if I really thought you weren't)

Don't want any of our folks getting hurt or bruised up.  Glad you were able to ride home and write about it here.  Blessings, stay safe. :08:

I'm sorry to hear that Irene. You gotta watch those "semi-snowbirds" that hang out there.    :'(

I try to predict what stupid move another vehicle could make but they keep surprising me with new ways to be stupid every day.
Glad you are alright for the most part.

I tend to get insurance info even if I think everything is alright because I have gotten home and found out it wasn't before.
