16k feet is dangerous, if you've been before you know. If not listen to guide.

At 30 I was in great shape. SCUBA, handball, racquetball, lifting. Went to top of Mona Kea on big island in Hawaii. Almost fell down a couple times. We even stopped 3/4 of the way up to acclimate.

But it was worth it. Have fun!

10-4 and thanks JR - this is a test. Oxygen will be nearby as well as a quick trip down if necessary. I've been a few times and it's time to acclmate Ewa before we go hiking up ashes to the summit of Cotopaxi. Talk about exhausting! Today's is a hard packed trail and very easy compared to Wednesdays climb. Man I love it here.

How's the house?

The sink is much cleaner than you left it.  :rotflmao:

Other than that, Tammy is coming over to clean on the 21st and maybe 22nd, and wants to know if she should have the door code. I texted you asking, I'm not giving it out without your direction.

I'll be rolling out morning of 22nd, so making sure she can get in to clean. All the dishes are washed, and on the morning of the 22nd all of my stuff will be out except the laptop and change of clothes (into riding gear).

That was a lot of bread you brought back from the BMW rally, and so the birds have been being fed quite well for the last few days.

Oh, and that raucous party I had Saturday totally trashed the place.  :nananana:

Nice !

Please keep the water bowls full so the birds don't eat all the grapes 🍇

Watered the porch plants? Had rain?

Only communication is via forum and instagram. Emails are once a week and my Verizon sim card is out - S.America sim card in so no int'l texting.

Man o man - hate that I missed a party 🎉  :beerchug:

Tammy can have the code - but she likely won't figure it out lol. Wish I woulda given her a key.

Thanks again man! We made the hike today and may have reached 17,000'! Beautiful. Pics on InstaGram already. Best photo back-up in case I drop the phone off a cliff lol

Had a good bit of rain. Yes to bowls, and plants. Birds not bothering grapes, and they aren't ready yet or I'd have beaten the birds to them.

fess up....how many times did you have to stop and rest on the way up?  I only went up to 12,400 and for the last 200 feet I felt like I had to stop about every 5 steps to catch my breath.

My legs would last 5 minutes climbing that terrain.

I'll leave that to you guys!

Would like to see some of South America though.

Before the climb up - pics/video of the repelling coming tomorrow. Ewa did great for her first time. Subtropical rainforrest = WOW

Organic isn't a word here - and purple potatoes aren't extinct either - they call our food 'dead' or 'poisoned' but it's just because they don't get that organic is a hipster movement lol

The entrance to the adventure park - 60 mph across the Rio Blanco into a narrow canyon. Then vertical climb up about 100 yards, white knuckles across a rope bridge and another 60mph ziplone back. Surviving is the best part! Motto - trust the ropes and double check the caribeeners😶

They'll let anyone play:-)

Fais,
First... That first pic you posted where the guy has his toolbox, ladder, and roll of wire on the back of his bike may have inspired me...

Being an electrical contractor who's old work van's seen better days, not interested in laying down $40-$50 k for a new one, and has a cool C14... maybe that's an option??   :rotflmao:

Seriously... it kinda reminds me of a common old saying my grandpa used to tell me when I was a kid... "Poor people have poor ways."  But ya gotta hand it to the guy... A+ for orginazation and originality!

Good to hear your pain's better and your teeth problems are better!

You're pics are awesome, dude! Beautiful there, and really dig the waterfall pic.

Zip lining is awesome, but bet it's 10 times cooler there!
Stay cool!

Thanks Jay, Bob and Diz - hey - that has a ring to it 🤠

I am still beyond happy to be chewing like a man. The taste buds on my right side are regenerating too. Must do extreme sports to balance all this E-A-T-I-N-G  😋

Nicole - we planned for three weeks to have three procedures. Someone upstairs sent them the skills to do them all in one day. Yes - a true vacation before we get to TN and Ewa and I can finally live in the same state; much less town and house  :beerchug:

Hi,
        Fais, glad everything went well!

I was looking at your pics, and brought back some memories!

I lived in San Juan, PR for about 5 years and while there worked on Sea- Going Tugs, pulling container and oil barges around the Caribbean and S.America.

Guatemala, Costa Rica, Venezuala, Columbia, ect. ect.

All that to say, looking at the country and terrain (Jungle?)....

I would just shake my head, and wonder how the Spanish Conquistadors, dominated  and subdued, the native people!!!

A tough bunch back then no doubt!!! ;D

Pic overload - we are overwhelemed with nature's beauty. One more day of this kind of fun and I actually do have to work here - in a few cities a few hours apart. Time to make the donuts ;D

When you eat chicken here, yesterday it was clucking. Fruits and vegetables are rarely from the fridge/freezer - eternal spring weather and good roads means they just eat fresh fresh fresh. At any budget not hardly possible for us. Only a very rich and dedicated hippy could pull it off  ;D Constant energy feels good.

Hope you like these - we are now in Mindo, a hummingbird, butterfly and orchid sanctuary town in a cloud forest. 3 beds, hot water, breakfast like you wouldn't believe, $36 a night. Have I mentioned how sweet the people are?

These pics are from Banos - tropical rainforest. Mindo pics and maybe a hummingbird video coming soon  :beerchug:

Ewa had things under control - some water behind her contacts and a whack of her knee on the rocks before she dialed it in. She finished like a boss

Cable car operated by an old Nissan motor - creative set up! Been riding this one for yesrs. Lately, it feels much safer and stronger. Was more of a gamble when an old Land Rover motor ran it on a thinner cable.
