I'm glad I'm having it wired for heated gear before delivery. Even though I'm going to put an Arboreal Systems "Black Box" (Neutrino V2) on it eventually.

In order to make both the MotoCampers event in Tennessee and then get to the National in Georgia, I need to leave the first of May for California to make sure I can get the trailer back in time.

If anything rotted or otherwise got messed up being in storage all winter there, I'll have to fix that too. At least Monterey winters are fairly dry and not terribly cold.

Figure a week out, a week there, a week back, a couple weeks to open it up in the storage unit and go over it with a fine tooth comb, repack the bearings, whatever needs some care, and then its off to MotorCampers.

If, heaven forbid, I have to replace the tent part of it, I can do that in two days or so once I get the new tent bundle. Not a hard job, just expensive. So I'm hoping if there is anything wrong with the tent part, it can be patched with tent tape until I have time to replace the whole tent. Don't mind having the tent look a little like a Frankenstein monster as long as it is waterproof and holds together.

Looks good, JR. I say whatever it takes to keep riding!
:iagree:

I'm happy you're still in the Game JR.  Not too quick in the turns, and I wouldn't try a 'stoppie' on it,
but certainly a comfortable/classy way to travel!!   Good for you!    :beerchug:

Rode it about a hundred miles today, temps got high enough to ride with quilted liners in. No need for heated liners but it did get chilly for a bit around Harpers Ferry. Went with a buddy of mine to sort of just get some miles and turns in to get used to it.

Love the loud transmission, nothing like anything I ever rode since the pan head back in 68. It goes into each gear with none of the quiet efficiency of a Japanese bike, but goes in just fine. I guess I could say it has character. Of course once in gear, its quiet as can be.

And its got grunt way down low, very little shifting necessary. I can't take it over 3,000 rpm for about 300 more miles, so will try to get them in before the snow and ice gets here. Then dump the oil and put new in for the winter, maybe, though not really critical.

Came into a 90 degree and for a second I didn't trust it, but decided to just yank on the bar and trust the trike to turn. It did, and didn't get upset at all. Guess over time I'll learn to trust it but its still hard not being able to counter steer and lean.  :motonoises:

That and using the foot brake almost exclusively. The front dual disks are linked to the rear master cylinder so the front brakes almost in concert with the rear. With a trike, that's a good thing. And I'm actually beginning to really like stopping with the foot brake at lights and such, and not having to put my feet down.

The Boom! Box infotainment system is pretty complicated. I mean, it works very well, but I still haven't learned to navigate it properly from the joysticks on the left and right handlebar perches. Eventually I'll get it down pat. At least I've got Sirius/XM working right, had to be on phone with XM Radio people for 30 minutes to get it properly authorized. Once it was, it popped up a message on the display saying the Sirius Subscription Has Changed. I clicked OK and it downloaded all the channels and then it was all good.

Still need to get a headset with mic, it came with one but it won't work on my helmet. J&M makes a good one, I guess I'll get one of them, but no hurry, with winter coming. Need it to take and make phone calls and bike-to-bike primarily.

Its an adventure.  :rotflmao:

Above you can see motorcycle boot on the exhaust header. Seems a common problem. Had them put the HD heel guard on that side, and took the boot rubber off with some brake cleaner.

Now that the transmission is getting run in a little, its shifting better and goes into neutral more reliably. Also apparently a normal process.

The dealership's service guys have been teasing me, asking if I've had it above 20mph in reverse yet. Apparently they get a kick out of putting it into reverse and rolling a little throttle on to see how fast it goes backward. Not me, I idle going backwards, mostly. No hurry to get into the parking spot or the garage. But not sure what top speed is while in reverse, tbh.  :motonoises:

I guess the dealer likes me, sent me a plaque. They should, considering my contribution to their Christmas bonuses.

Thanks for the images.  I really like the color.

A few questions out of curiosity.

Does it have cruise?
Does it have Blue-Tooth?
Does it have Nav?

Do you have a Go-Pro and if so, can you make a video of you riding it?  Would like to hear what it sounds like etc.

Hope you can enjoy it this year yet.
