Why is it?
« on: June 08, 2017, 03:42:33 am »
I found a rack of unmolested VM28's for my 900. This rack of carbs were used 2 years and have sat on a shelf for the last 40 years. They were stored without having gas left in them. I found the insides pristine when I pulled the bowls. The screw driver slots for the main and pilot jets were not mangled like all the other ones I have seen.

I cleaned them and checked float levels using the clear tube method. 2 were proper 2 were not. Adjusted levels.

I was finishing the installation of the carbs and the throttle cables went in easily. I thought it was weird because I always had to fight them in the past.  Dang it, I got them backwards. I then had to fiddle with those darn stubborn cables for what seemed like hours in a hot garage.

I might even try to start it tonight.
