Great looking bike. How does it handle? I hear they are actually quite nimble. My Wife want me to get one so she can read her Kindle.

No one's ever been on the back of the 14

Would need a new wife to use that one :singing: :singing:

You guys are funny.
Nobody ever comes back from a 'Wing.
He's forever lost in farkle paradise.

if i could get a newerish goldwing, i know i sure as heck would!

I dunno.... that thing is simply gorgeous looking.... and it must be a dream ride for cross country riding 2 up for sure....

They aren't a slouch bike by any means, they will rollllll right along as fast as you wanna go, all day....

I can't say I would sell or trade my C14 for one, but if I could buy a new one, like that, I think it would be the last bike I would ever need to buy....

Very nice ZG!  :beerchug: Welcome back, and don't leave for so long.  :(  I assume you have a reverse?  I'm also curious about the seat height?  Seems good to go for the long haul you want to do.

Thanks brother!  :beerchug:

Seat height is I think 29", which is crazy to me, in all my life I've never been able to flat foot a bike and this one I can! Yes, it has reverse, that along with the low seat height will be really nice all loaded up and with with mama on the back!  :great:

After Gumby is finished with his kitchen, you should hook up with him. He has a great route that he can take you on.

They are MUCH more nimble than they look. At least mine was as compared to my C10. I'd pull the C10 out after having been on the Wing for a few weeks on a trip and it was like going from riding a quarter horse to an elephant on a pogo stick!  :))  As compared the C14, I don't know, I have not logged any miles on the 14 to make the comparison.

I wish the blacked out chrome was an option back when I bought mine. That looks sharp!   :great:

I know where you can get a Bushtec trailer to tow for a reasonable price. But it would need to be painted to match the Wing Know a good shop? :)

Welcome back little buddy!

I think you bought it because you wanted to reach the ground for once in your life. Not like you're really going to ride it cross country or anything  :nananana:!

I always find it amusing when folks that haven't ridden a newer 'wing (GL1800 series) make comments about them.  I rode a C10 for over 16 years and have ridden a GL1800 for over 8 years now (currently on my second one). For two up riding the 'wing is (arguably) the best touring bike on the market (the BMW 1600 GTL is "better" but also much more expensive).  I always tell my Concours riding friends to never let their wife ride on a GL1800 or they will end up having to buy one.  :)  I also tell folks that my Goldwing is my wife's bike; I'm just the driver.  ;)

No, it's not as nimble or as fast as a Concours but a well ridden 'wing will surprise a lot of  "average" riders on sportier bikes. You don't have to spring for a new seat (so you can touch the ground or ride for longer than an hour) or handlebar risers (so you can sit up straighter). You also don't have to buy knee-saver pegs (so you can reduce the bend in your aging knees) or a cruise control. You don't have to worry about heading into a parking spot (reverse is a wonderful thing). It has the plug-in for your MP3 player as well as an AM/FM/Weather radio already installed along with a very spacious tail trunk and tip-over bars.  There are a lot a very nice things about a GL1800 (and keeping the pillion happy is a big part). :great:

Nope, it's a good route on backwoods roads. There was a tree across the road that had me turning around

Hi,
For me, it would be all about the Gold Wing Engine! :beerchug:

Like MOB said, it will go, ALL day, EVERY day! ;D

He told me that I was going to have to buy one and join the Wing club with him, no jacket. :truce:

Jami still likes riding on the back of the 14. I do believe the Wing is the Cadillac of motorcycles so I will own one someday, but that is at least 10 years out!
