2012 National Rally Announcement
« on: August 12, 2011, 12:05:37 pm »
Yes we have a nationals.  I am so excited.  Great location and great roads.
Eureka Springs, Arkansas June 11-15 2012 at the Inn of the Ozarks.
http://www.innoftheozarks.com

Camping at the Kettle Camp Ground.
http://www.kettlecampground.net/

You should be able to book either one starting now.

Here is the presentation the others saw last night in pdf so you have to scroll it yourself and no music.
http://www.cog-online.org/clubportal/clubdocs/1328/2012%20South%20Central%20National%20Rally%20Presentation_lite.pdf

We are far from done with the web site and I can not be sure the address will not change again but here is what we have so far for the web page for the nationals.  Sorry for the delay on launch.  We had some issues.

Well that's closer to you than Vermont!  I'm pretty jazzed...  I haven't done long distances and when I got my Connie I was tempted to try to make the 2011 Nationals, but it was just too far for my long distance experience.  This is only 400 miles from me.  I understand it's the first time in like 11 years the National is in the South Central.  And hopefully it's a step off for me to go farther in 2013!

I will look into rental bikes in the area but Dallas is a great day ride from the rally location.  Lots of twisties between the two if you take those roads and not the hwy.  Google maps says 380mi.

 8) Yahoo is right. We are so exited about hosting the 2012 rally in Eureka Springs Ark. If you have never ridden in Arkansas
than you have a treat awaiting you. The roads are awesome with scenery to boot. Lots off cool places to eat and drink  :beerchug:, and lot of cool places for the ladies to shop. Eureka Springs is a biker friendly town.

To Bob Smith:

Just curious
Is it safe to book rooms yet?
Is there a "rally" rate we need to ask for or have you been able to get that far yet?

I do not think we will have any formal activities Friday so it can be up to you.  Maybe just gtg at the pool or restaurant.  Rally workers can ride or relax.

So tempting, looks like you guys were having so much fun at this years rally, the 12 rally is definately closer to me than this years, but still 2k miles each way from Portland OR... would have to make a 2 week deal out of this for me which might be challenging but I'm sure gonna try!!

Well, the date is the same as the meetings I'm supposed to be at, but I have already asked for a change, so we'll see what happens.  Should know fairly soon.

Ok, making reservations for a pull through site at the camp ground. Will be hooking up the Wells Cargo to the 31' Winnebago motor home and parking at the Kettle for the week. 1,317 miles one way- best to be comfy on the way down and home.  ;D

OK, rent the C14 in Austin.
Get Bob or Ted to trailer it to Eureka.  (see how easily I get Ted and Bob into trouble?  I know, it's a gift.).
Fly in and I'll come pick you up on the turbo.   >:D

Well John, {subliminal message: "come John, come"} we certainly would like to {subliminal message: "come John, come"} have you make it so {subliminal message: "come John, come"} it would be great if {subliminal message: "come John, come"} you could get those {subliminal message: "come John, come"} meetings moved.  I mean I {subliminal message: "come John, come"} wouldn't want you to {subliminal message: "come John, come"} let me convince you to {subliminal message: "come John, come"}  do something you really couldn't {subliminal message: "come John, come"} do, but if you really want to, do come.   :beerchug:

Ok, smarty eleck..... Now ya done it.... I know how to get people in trouble too!!!    :rotflmao:

#1 Rev is closer to Austin than me. Since he's a preacher and doesn't really work,, so,,,  he has lots of free time.

#2  Has a trailer available and will pick up bikes for you anywhere in Texas..

#2 I happen to know that Vic Salisbury has connections.
Ya see,, He arranged the C-14 from Kawasaki that Wolfram and Bernd rode.
Helped arrange the Kawasaki demo bikes at the previous Nationals.

Soooo,,,, Vic, GET TO WORK!!!
Please arrange for Kawasaki to bring about 20 test bikes to Eureka Springs...

See, easy solution!!!!    :))

Now, getting bck to the bike rental discussion....
As most of ya know I flew into Vermont and rented a bike for the National. (2011 "Wing")
Made some good and some bad choices.
#1) I shoulda rented a smaller/lighter bike! (Wing was ok, but twisties and parking lot speeds wioth wife on the back almost killed me).
#2) I shoulda rented it for the entire national, but $$ (and my wife) prevented that. (Don't tell her I sed that)
#3) The roads/scenery/twisties were great.
#4) Because of the rental and the planning, I was at the National!!    Rev was at home,, whining about it..      (E'nuff sed).

Ride safe, Ted

You guys are all crazy.

"HEY",, I resemble that remark!!!   :-\

Ok, time fer a little stirrin'..  <EVIL GRIN> :))

We're home from Mt Snow.
Had a great time.
OtP Travelers are still on the road. Think they are in Michingan today....

At the banquet I was supposed to help answer questions about the 2012 National.
At the time, all I knew was,, it was going to be in Eureka Springs. (sadly,, not Texas) :'(
So, I couldn't answer many questions. Still can't....  :-\
All I know is I'll be helping out in some way.... (That Rotten Rev, "volunteered" me)....   >:(

On the other discussion the topic is how far Eureka Springs is from everyone..... :85:
Guess they (the Yankee's) now understand how I feel when the Nationals are up North and I have to travel from Houston.....<evil grin>   ;)

BUT,,, I think we'll have a good turnout.     I KNOW THERE WILL BE GOOD RIDING!!! :whoo:

Bottom line is;
                    Everyone is welcome.. :welcome:
                    We'll talk to anyone.. (Even Ya'll Yankee's)   <grin>   :nananana:

See ya there.
