2017 National Bike Show - HELP
« on: April 25, 2017, 05:18:39 pm »
Greetings,

Rick Davis (Rasmith) & I have been appointed to run this year's Bike Show at the National.

This will take place on Thursday @ 4 PM, before the group photo & banquet.

Beyond that...I have no freaking clue.  That's why I'm posting.

I'd love some input, especially from those who have done them in the past.  I have some basic ideas, but I need to hear from the masses...WHAT DO YOU WANT TO SEE HAPPEN?  Now's your chance to speak up!

I'll also contact directly some poor souls who I've managed to look up & see they've run the shows at past Nationals.

Thanks!

Have sexy umbrella girls and beer tasting next to each bike.  I bet you would get a better turn out.

Have lots of categories and great prizes so more people feel they have a chance even when their bike is more normal.

Combine it with skills event maybe so we can see if they ride them as good as they look.

Up the incentive to win, have the winning bikes part of the group photo.

Its been awhile since I attended a national and can't recall, but is there category in the show for a non-Concours.

I know it's the National Rally for the Concours Owners Group, however the unofficial motto is "Come for the Bike and Stay for the People".

I'm definitely planning on one!  I'll share a more complete list of categories when I actually try to write one down  ;D

Suggestion #1 - I think Rick is all over that one already.  #partycove   :rotflmao:

Thanks for the input, Bob.  I especially like the photo idea...for the Best of Show, perhaps.

I like the idea of the winning bike, or bikes, being in the group photo.
Maybe you can select a couple of categories, or several, to be the ones that will be in the group photo. As long as it's published before the bike show, it should work out well.
