After Brussels, what's the current attitude over there?
Are the Germans etc all stirred up?

Ted
No!
We will not be blackmailed by the terrorists. They only want to provoke hatred, and we will not allow. Life in Europe continues, perhaps one looks more closely, who is next to you, and you are attentive to suspicious persons and property.

police, government, and secret services works hard to get them, and protect the people.

More officers and controls are present on State Borders, Rail Stations subways, Airports, Shopping malls, ....
We all should open our eyes and watch to the neighbourhood about unnormally happenings, and call the police if it is necessary..

Live goes on, and we are not afraid to go out of our home, for shopping, for sport, for riding, for travelling and other things.

We are safe at all the things we want to do, Motorcycling, skiing, riding, fishing, hiking, etc.... no problem.
the life in Europe is generally safe.

Where are you guys flying into?  I'm in Stuttgart and will be riding down on the 13th.  I believe it will be about a 4 hour ride depending on border checkpoint stops and traffic.

Good Morning Patrick, We fly into Budapest on the 10th. Start our adventure there!! We pick up our bikes in Landshut near Munich on Wednesday the 13th (Probably taking a train from Budapest to Landshut). Meeting Rob from Vancouver and riding around the area and meeting other riders on the 14th to ride down to Livigno! At least that's how the plan looks now. It is going to be so much fun, that I know! Hopefully we can meet up before the Rally starts. Look forward to meeting you!

I'm still trying to figure out my route to Livigno.  Maybe we can merge paths somewhere on the way down south.  Does the touring start in Livigno on the 14th or is that the meet up day.  I think Ted posted something about this....

Ok...found it.  The 15th is the first riding day.  Meet up on the 14th...

In an email, vice a post, Ted said, "All, I thought the arrival day in Livigno was the 15th.  I was incorrect.  Bernd sez that we must arrive Livigno on the 14th as the 15th is a riding day."

So have you guys worked out your route, yet?  Perhaps we'll meet up with Ted and company as well.  :motonoises:

Patrick, I think the three of us Attila, Rob and myself are picking up our rental bikes on the 13th and from there riding down near the famous castle Neuschwanstein (Getting used to our new rental bikes) and spending the night near there and around noon the next day the 14th after riding in the morning, we are meeting a good sized group with at least one of the Leaders down to Livigno.

As I get more information as we get closer to the date I will let you know! You are more than welcome to join us!

Steve and I will be arriving Frankfurt on the 11th.
Will meet (locals) Bernd, Richard, Walter, (mebbe ChrisD), others there.
Hans, Mika, others from GCE may be joining us there too.
Haven't discussed route with them yet.
But, I know it won't be a direct route to Livigno. (as Bernd is planning some sightseeing).

Ride safe, Ted

Sounds good.  That appears to be about 2 1/2 to 3 hours from here with Livigno another 3 to 3 1/2 hours further.   I'll firm up my plans as I get more information from you guys and Ted.  I just registered my bike a few weeks ago.  Haven't been on it much since then...so my experience riding in Germany is nil, so far.

I'm still trying to get my wife to change her mind and come along...  :motonoises:

@Ted, I'll most definitely meet up with you all as long as work cooperates.  :)

@Patrick, take it easy when you finally get some road time, Europe and Germany in general, is a way different animal than in the states.  Oh, don't let the speed demon get a hold of you, it's no fun when you're doing 100+ mph and then everything comes to a complete stand still on the Autobahn.  It happens more than I like..... >:(

Chris,  Thanks for the advice.  I'll try to keep it reasonable.  It's pretty weird when you're loafing along at 90 in the slow lane and you're getting passed like you're sitting still   :-\...Not by just one car...but many....  Haven't experienced that on the bike  :motonoises:...but several times in the car going back and forth to Landstuhl.

Yes, we can do all five, but beware, we need minimum 10 days to ride from Neuschwanstein Castle to Livigno: one day for one route, an one day to go bach to the starting point.... The smallest distance is nearby 200 kilometers, and the largest distance maybe 400 kilometers. But note, our riding speed will be slow, on those narrow and twisty roads, but you will feel it like a very fast speed... It goes up and down like a rollercoaster.

96 days to go before the start of the Tour!! Still need to get International Driver's License! Will try to get this done this week!

Both Attila and I are renting the Yamaha MT-09 Tracer! Any comments on that choice?
