More than I expected
« on: June 24, 2016, 02:35:19 pm »
I just want to say how much I enjoyed the Rally and especially how everyone made me feel right at home. I was not there more than 1 hour when I felt very welcome and as if I knew everyone all my life.
That is a very rare situation in my life and I for one will be a member for life. It was most enjoyable putting peoples faces to their screen names and avatars on the forum.
I even ran into Matt from Wisconsin and he brought me on a great ride. He is totally different from what I expected, with a screen name of "Man working here". I feel as I have known him all my life and I just met him.
A lot of faces from Sport riders wrench session showed up and it was really nice to see everyone again.
I learned a lot about how society should be and is in COG.
Fais went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and so did everyone I met.
I thank COG for the life's lesson, Life does get better after 50 IMO

Nationals are cool  :great:  :great:  :great:  with COG people.
P.S. I got to meet Steve in SF and thank him personally and  it just goes to show people from both sides of the tracks do have a lot in common. Thank you Steve in SF :beerchug:
Sincerely, ACISROC-  pronounced  "AKIS ROCK" " not a** is Rock " like Steve pronounced it, LOL

ACISROC is cool   :beerchug:  :great:  :motonoises:

Thanks for showing up and being part of a great event. It is nice to hear that you felt welcome. Dave Scott the "First Time Rally" chair worked hard on getting first timers acclimated to the National.

Hope you make it to Run With The Wolf and/or Barber Vintage Festival.

Car JR- I took my Grandmas 1988 Corsica and made it into a two door stripped down drag machine!!! The license plate said "ACISROC", (Corsica backwards). I think it is still on the internet as the baddest Corsica in the nation. Google ACISROC, It was orange and later Modified even more in black!!

I posted pics about a year and a half ago on the forum. I have since changed putters I will try to post again later in the week.

Is it that obvious that I'm from the bad side of the tracks  ;) ;)  BTW, thanks for the clarification, didn't mean to offend - my apologies! Steve

Just curious ACISROC, has your golf game improved since changing putters, and was fewer posts due to all that putting practice??   :D   :beerchug:

I too thoroughly enjoyed my first National Rally, in part because it was in "My own backyard", but also because EVERYONE at the rally was
welcoming and a pleasure to meet and talk with.  Can't say enough about the Rallymeister and Rally Staff...  These folks did such an amazing
job... and rarely (if it all) got to ride a twisty road.

I think we met... I was the guy with name tag hanging around my neck!   :beerchug:

Martin,

Bob, I checked it today on the center stand, and looks no different than when I left Helen.
600+ miles after we discussed it.  I even spun it in first gear to see if there's uneven wear.

I will keep an eye on it.  Was nice meeting and talking to you at Rally Central.  I'm sure we'll "meet again"!   :beerchug:
