Accessories C14 / ASV levers
« Last post by NYbiomed on June 22, 2018, 03:29:45 pm »
So I bought the shorty brake lever last fall and I like it enough that I ordered the standard length clutch lever this spring...I installed  it, but something didn't feel quite right no matter how much I adjusted it. It kinda felt that the clutch was engaging in the last 1/4" or so, and at times wouldn't completely allow me to shift. Put the OEM clutch lever back on and all good again, could I have done any damage/excessive wear? I doubt I ran it more than a couple hundred miles with the ASV with the way it was feeling. Color of the clutch fluid still looks good, even though I know it gets darker quicker than the brake fluid.

Gosh, I thought I had a great deal when I bought my 2014 CTX 700 in March for $4300.00 with 1700 miles and mine was only the faring model with tall factory windshield,no bags.  Not sure why the CTX 7's and 13's don't seem to sale very well, I am loving my 700.  But when I got the title I could tell it most likely sat at a dealers show room from 2014 to 2017 when the previous owner purchased it.

I try to make my plans in the sand at low tide...

And in this case, I thought about my desire to ride slab across the heartland and was discouraged by the consideration. Sorry dear brother. I thought also of riding down to the Bay Area and seeing friends, but the prospect of yet another trip on I5 was deflating. Being a wilderness guy through and through, but wanting a long bike trip, I've decided to go and see my good friends in Calgary, AB.

I've done many, many trips in BC and AB by foot, kayak and car. One summer I hiked from Montana to the top of Jasper National Park by myself. That was a few months and a lot of miles. So I know the area really well. This trip will let me rider over Hwy 20 here in WA, which I have been meaning to do for years. For those that don't know, that route takes you over and through North Cascades National Park. I will then head east through WA so that I can ride up along the Western edge of the Rockies all the way to Yoho National Park in BC. I'll cross over and see my friends in Calgary. Then I think I'll shoot up toward Edmonton and come back down the Icefields Parkway, reflecting on all the trails I've hiked and peaks I've topped.

Then, somehow, I'll come home. It will be quick. I don't have more than 5 days for this whole escapade. Will need to ride for 6-8 hours a day, which will be no trouble on the old Connie.

So excited to cross over and through some of the most wild and beautiful country in the world. Now that they have put up elk fencing on the Icefields Parkway there is less chance of hitting a creature too. Bonus.

Happy summer riding all.

Here is his site.
It appears that the Sport starts at $395, and the (2) Touring's at $425
Check with him. Customs extra's cost well uhh/err "extra" so hard to find a final a price for heat/etc.
I think you can build a seat on his site to get an estimate...

I didn't want his Sport seat nor his touring seat so he made me a custom sport/touring version.
He can do a seat in any optuion you want..

Ride safe, Ted

I'm not sure exactly. Pricing is very similar to Laam, maybe a little more. I made changes along the way and never added up the total. And yes he needs a stock pan.

Looks awesome, i'm running a Seth Laam with heat for the driver only...what does Loren charge? I assume you need to send him a seat pan too?

I agree. Loren makes excellent seats!

I added 1 of these to my Phil's Rack several years ago.
Was extremely hard to get at that time. {Had to order mine from Australia}.

Definitely an improvement over the Universal Mount that came with my Trunk from Kawasaki.
(I think this mount from Phil is cheaper than buying the Kawasaki Universal Mount too).

If anyone is on the fence about ordering your rack with the mount. "Do it"!

Bernd likes to keep the actual agenda secretive to surprise me, and I enjoy the surprise too.
We'll be riding in Europe, so "alle ist gut"!  yahoooooooooo.

We start from Frankfurt. (We prefer back roads, & will mostly stay off of the Autobahns)..
May go as far west/north as Belguim to see Gee/Marc/Daan and other Eu's we met on the other rides.
NOTE: Several of them rode with us at OtP, XIV and Alp's Rally #1,,,
Plan is Dunkirk, Dieppe, Normandy/Omaha Beach, and then probably ride thru Paris to the Rally start..
Plan was to stay one night in France at a special motorcycle Only Motel. {But Boomer sed it may now be closed}.
{Probably after the Rally} I think we'll see Ralf in Austria and Hans Peter in Switzerland, and ride a bit in those area's with them.

After the Rally,,, it's anyone's guess how we'll get back to Frankfurt..   >:D

I just sent him a note to send me/you the planned routes.

Talked to Doug and he has another route planned. May be picking up his bike at same place as you?
Fias, may also meet us..

Ride safe, Ted

PS: I really wish more COGgers were going with us..  :motonoises:
Accessories C14 / Re: Cheapest source for Kawi touring seat?

I searched threads here, and powersports warehouse used to have these seats for around $400.00. They now list them for full MSRP of $534.00.

Where can I find the best deal for this pricey item?

Partzilla for $414 with free shipping.

I've had pretty good experiences with Partzilla, especially when you order big/bulky parts (think ATV fairings) where FREE shipping really adds value and savings.
