I do like Butler maps and have a couple.  I love that they give gps location also.  I added it up and it would be about $120 to get all the states I want for this trip but I may do it anyway.

That looks like a good one Fred.  Not sure I would have found that on my own.

I am sure I have been on that road in Co.  I have had three trips there.  That is why I am heading further west this time.

Let me dig through my collection and look for dupes. If so they are yours to use and abuse. I won a boxed set awhile back so may have them. NV is got some good stuff far north and far south. Nothing but history and scenery in between  ;)

Come on guys.  I know more of you have ridden out there than just Fred.  You support OTP why not sit at your desk and pull GPS locations off Google maps of those places you remember most and just would not want me or others to miss.
Thanks if you do.

PS:  Considering the Catoma 2 up 2 tent.   If you have one tell me about it.
Also need the best sleep mat and chair?

Bob, you know I'm too Computer Illiterate to do the GPS location thing.
But, I can tell you the name and you can find it easily.

It's called "Passo Stelvio"..

I am thinking of making a separate thread for everyone to share their most awesome riding finds.  Maybe that would get more posts?

Ted this is all it takes for me but I understand.

Open browser and type "map"  Google maps comes up on mine.
Go to location of the awesomeness to share and click till you get a marker
A window will pop up with the GPS location at the bottom.
Click the gps location.
Either copy the gps digits from the screen that pops up or copy and paste the entire browser address.

"It's called "Passo Stelvio".. "  I don't think that is in the western US though.  :nananana:

Too much thinking going on. Just watch reruns of "Then Came Bronson", and just get out there and adventure!

I am not thinking, I am having fun.  I am in my last year at work and acting like a short timer.  I got nothing else to do but dream of this trip.  Shoot if it was not for looking at all the fun places to go, things to see and stuff to take I would get bored and maybe have to work.

Thanks Fred,  Now wasn't that fun, sort of reliving your trip?

Funny those little forest roads are paved.

That second link does not look like much.  More fun than scenic?

I like the third one.  That looks like the middle of no where awesome I love.  Both street and scenes.

I've never heard of that brand tent, so I have no hands on experience with it. However I do camp a lot. That tent is to heavy & pack size is to big. Not to mention it appears to take 10 - 12 stakes, to much work & set up time. The price is a little high also, you should be able to get a nice tent for under $200.00.

Look at Eureka, REI & Marmott to name a few. They all quality tents. I prefer a pack size less than 22" in length.

For mattress  I love my exped syn mat 7, has built in pump & packs about 5" x 8". It's insulated on the inside, keeps you off the cold ground.

Look at Big Agnes for bags, you can get them with a sleeve that the air mattress slides into.  Holds bag nice & straight, doesn't wrap all around you when you turn at night. I have a Deer Park 30.

You can get a Chinese knock off of a Helinox & REI chair for $35.00 off ebay. Had mine several years now & they pack 4" x 14" roughly I believe.

The second one is highway 168 in CA.  It is both scenic and fun, and one of my favorite roads.  After you cross the state line and continue on Highway 266 to Highway 95, at that intersection is the Cottontail Ranch.  I never stopped to check it out, but I hear it can be very scenic.   :rotflmao:
