Arkansas Regional Ride
« on: February 25, 2015, 02:18:10 pm »
I have set up a another site for the Jack's resort ride. I have 20 rooms blocked for COG until 10/9/2015 at the Best Western Inn of Russellville. The address is 2326 N Arkansas Avenue, Russellville Ar 72802. The phone number is 479-967-1000. The rates are $69.95 for a king bed room and $74.95 for a room with 2 queen beds. About 3 blocks north of the Motel there is an RV park for either RVs or camping. It's address is 10 Outdoor Court Russellville, Ar 72802, Phone is 479-968-7705. The rate for RVs is $37.00 for a 30amp  connection and $40.00 for a 50amp connection, tent is $18.00.
This is close to several very good riding areas.

Hey guys, I've stayed in this Best Western back in 2010 and 2011 on another road trip unrelated to motorcycling.

One thing to note, watch your ride. in 2010 A big group of us went out there and stayed here. 5 sportbikes trailered up for an Ozark weekend ride.

Over night on the second night, one of the bikes was stolen out of the parking lot.

So, watch your gear here.  I know a C14 is not the same as a supersport motorcycle, but be AWARE this parking lot is being watched by motorcycle thiefs.

Other than that, the hotel was a good spot to stay.

The following year, we stayed in Harrison Super 8, away from the bigger city area and interstate.  And, this was a better location anyways, as it's right in the middle of the good riding.

;D    Guys I have changed the date on this ride to October 16,17 2015. We will have a group meal Saturday night at Colton's Steak House and Grill, they will have a room for us.
I also changed Craig's room and Dan Cooper's room to the correct date. Hope to see everyone at The Wildflower next week.

Email me at youngblood6@gmail.com and I will send you some ride maps. Do you use a GPS? If you have never ridden in Arkansas you are in for a treat.

I have base camp in Harrison and if anyone wants to hook up for riding on Saturday, shoot me me am email.   dkdrury9@gmail.com

Good to know, Joe. I have a very large cable and lock that can loop through a few bikes. I think I'll take it for good measure.

DFW riders......Pamela and I are headed up on the 15th, Thursday morning for AR, and if anyone wants to tag along I have route through Mena selected.

Twisties and back roads most of the way.  For those in Collin County, we can meet up in Hunt County in Campbell off of TX 24 just north of I 30.

You might want to call to make sure your room reservation is still held. I had set mine up some months back when I returned from the Wildflower ride. I was looking for my email confirmation for this and I could not find it so I called the hotel today and they told me that they did not have a reservation for us. I ended up with smoking room so I think we will be changing hotels for Kate and me.

We plan on riding up on Thursday afternoon and staying in Mena for the night and having dinner on the mountain side at the Queen Wilhelmine. On Friday, we will be riding up to Russellville to meet up with the group. Be safe and we are looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Welcome to the Group DennyD. Looking forward to meeting you.
I thought I'd let you know that we have a custom in SC.
Anyone attending their first COG event is expected to buy...   >:D
Ok, ok, I wuz being a smarty eleck. I apologize, I'll start another rumor. Jim's buying!   ;)

I saw your post about the Hill Country. We returned from there yesterday.
But I wasn't on a bike, was riding a Model T Ford. (Was anyone from the COGdom out there)?

(before ya'll ask)
"Yes", we were s-l-o-w, and "YES" we always pulled over to let the bikes pass...
NOTE: on occasion, the &*^&$% Harleys had to pull over to "let us pass".    :nananana:

(heh heh) We discovered that an exhaust whistle on an angry Model T is a LOT louder than Harley pipes!   :rotflmao:
(I think one guy wet himself)  :rotflmao:

Ride safe, Ted

Everyone needs to call and check on your reservations. I made mine on august 22 and when I called on Gregs advise it was gone. They had some kind of screw up and wiped it out. So if you have or had a reservation you need to call and check on it cause you may not have one.

I feel your pain Butch. They told me they had a few "sub standard" employees that screwed up the reservations.
