Ted,

What you're asking for is what we call a no brakes drill. This is among the plans. :motonoises:

Doug, thanks for setting this up again. I missed last years event as I was out of the country. I have a new ride now, Spyder F3 Ltd (have my COG sticker on the windshield)  :-\ and would love to ride this on the track but I know this is a bike only event so I would be happy to just help out in the pits and enjoy everyone's company for the weekend. Do you know what the price would be to just camp for the weekend without the class?

IIRC, $10 per day.

Just so you guys know the track is offering us a discounted price based on our good looks  :) Of note Jackie says our track day is turning out to be popular and she is already seeing a bunch of people not affiliated with COG sign up through her at the full-price fare. Apparently February is prime-time and more popular this year than last. She says not to be surprised if novice is filled up by January 15th.  :o For all you waiting til the last minute to sign up, I wouldn't wait if I were you cuz it's gonna be all gone if you wait til the last minute....

Ok, I changed the surgery, and the Dr. finally sed I can go.
I'm in......... (I went to The Calendar of Events and signed up today).

Ride safe, Ted

PS: A bedtime story for those of you "that are not signed up".
I'm also signed up to do the Ride the Alps II Rally in Eu. (Next July)
Everybody was told to sign up early as there are not many spots available.
I signed up 4 months ago, and I have a spot.
Many waited, and now they can't get a spot,, because their all gone.

The moral to my story.
There are not many spots left for the Sport-touring School.
If you want to go, Sign up NOW!!!   <hint, HINT!!>

PS II: Doug, {Am I in time?}   can I borrow your extra leathers?

Way to go Ted surgeries can wait  :-\
The signups are here:
https://tinyurl.com/yc423d5w
The track owners say this will likely fill by about Jan 15th. I know it's common for everyone to wait til the last minute to sign up but It's gonna be full if they all do that...

Registration on the COG event site (for the training day) is $132.50. Doug's plan to leave it at that level for the first 10 registrants, then we have to raise the price. So get in now... (If Doug has a different take, he'll weigh in).

OK, I thought (I know, thinking when I am not use to it  ;D) We had to pay on Jennings site, reading is fundamental

(If I have it correctly) We're paying to COG, then COG will pay Jennings so we get a discount. Unless I have it wrong (always a possibility... ). :))

Ted: I have a spare suit for you man.

Jerry: We have a discounted rate if you pay on the COG calendar. Click here to sigh up: https://tinyurl.com/yaz87vq3
You don't have to worry about renting a suit til you get there. Right now paying for the track day before it fills is paramount.

I got us a rate that is not only cheaper than last year, but is also cheaper than a regular track day. At this price they're giving it away

OK Ted's trying to force me to go to this thing.  I think he just wants to make me look bad but not sure.  A question for the organizer?  My bike has tip over protection for the front and rear.  Is that allowed or would it have to be removed?  Also do I get a special award if I pass Ted?

The focus of the track day is learning and implementing new skills that can not be safely attempted for the first time on a public roadway. Roads do not have runoffs. They have trees, guard rails, rocks and cliffs. This track has long flat lawns that I have ridden on many a times. Last month I ran off in turn 1 4-times until I 'got' what I was working on. Try that on a roadway.....

So that everyone can focus on learning the drills here is what I propose. I want everyone to be familiar with the track map before you get there. It will be easy to work on the drills when you're not working on knowing what's coming up next.

Homework: Be able to draw this track map from memory on a blank piece of paper. There will be a test at 9am in the classroom before we begin our first lesson. We will post up our map drawings (to our amusement) and go from there.

The goal is not to make you a track junkie, but to make you a better rider. This homework will enable you to learn the exercises and not waste time learning the track. Do that before you get there.

Tipover bars are fine as long as they are secure. Mike Dionne came with his C-10 and leaned it so far over on day 2 that he was dragging the center stand....where your foot goes to push it down!  :-\

OK, just signed up on the COG calendar and I am happy to say my long time riding buddy, Jerry Duke, whom a lot of you have met at other COG meetings has finally joined COG   :beerchug:

I hope it isn't too cold there as I have a set of perforated leathers, two piece, as long as they will allow that.  Now I just need to see if they fit my fat a**   :D

Jerry, if the rules are the same as last year, two-piece leathers are allowed if they have a full-circumference zipper.

Doug, are you still recommending us big guys call the track to reserve leathers early? I don't want to end up in a set that leaves me singing castrati by the end of the day.

I will need to rent some leathers as the zipper is one of those 8 or 10" deals.

Doug, I plan on making it this year but will only be camping and helping in the pits. Do I need to contact them ahead of time to reserve a camping spot? There is no signup for just a camping option on our site. I still want to join in on the fun. Thanks.
