7/15/17 WAFFLE HOUSE, MAXIMUM HORSE COUNTRY, GATOR JOE’S
Saturday July 15th Breakfast, optional route to lunch.
Well it’s time for another event in Steve’s absence so I’m dipping into an old favorite that was repeated at least 3 years in a row a decade ago.
If you enjoy the horse country west and north of Ocala, this events a must. I’m going to lead a non-COG optional route between the two meals on most all of the horse country roads, crossing many but not repeating any.

Also in keeping with many events from that time, we will start at the Waffle House just west of I-75 on route 40 in Ocala. I’ll be there by 8:30AM and will be ready to start my route at 9:30AM.

The route will be:
West on 40
Left on sw 85th ..9th.. 95th..
Right on 110th
Right on 40
Left on 100th
Left on 28th pl
Right on 110th ave

Left on 198th st rd.. 135th ave
Right on route 320

On route 225
Left on 346
Right on 441
Left on cholokka blvd (main road in Micanopy)
Right on seminary ave
Left on route 234..turns into 329
On route 329
Left on 198th st.
Right on nw 100th ave rd
Left on route 329
Left on hwy 318
Right on hwy 225

Left on 120th st
Right on route 225A(nw 75th)
Sharp veer left to 100th st
100th st all the way across route 301 to route 200A
Left on 97th st rd
Right on route 35
Left on route 40

Wow, almost went cross-eyed reading through that route!   :o.   I believe I might have ridden this with you last decade and I think I'll join you for this one if you don't mind.

That'd be great. I don't think I've seen you since one of the picnics you put on for the group at your house. I got rid of my Ulysses at 86,000. I look forward to seeing you.

It's now on the event calendar thanks to Ron fixing a couple problems my attempt had.

Horse country by backroad is beautiful.

We used to have about 20 to this ride. Split into a scenic group and a spirited group. Sprawling fenced pastures , hundreds of thoroughbreds.

Hoping to attend but possible conflict with indoor cart racing with a bunch of knuckle heads buddies. Should know for sure tomorrow...
Thank God you're alive every time you arrive!

Any of you guys/girls that haven't been on a "Roy ride" don't know what you're missing. You need to come along, this is one of his best. Don't be deterred by the complicated looking route.
If you have been on one of his rides, well...    ;D

And, Gator Joe's is worth the ride regardless of the route you take.

Thanks Mike.  The roads for this Saturday are the most complemented by fellow riders. Let's ride.

There is a ride tomorrow as posted. I'll be at the Waffle House for breakfast at 8:30. I'll start the ride after 9:30. I can't tell for sure if anyone else is going but I am.

Everybody have a good weekend.

Well, y'all have fun! I was waiting until the last minute since I was on standby to help out another friend and he finally told me he needed my help. Sooooo...
Hate to miss this as Roy's rides are always fun! Hope some more folks show up.

Maybe next time!

I'd really really like to go on this. I've always thought that part of Fl was pretty. Too far this time. Maybe next year!

I won't be able to make it. I was trying to clear my calendar and failed. I looked at the route and I can tell Roy has a great ride planned.

Yes, it was an excellent ride. Thank you, Roy. Those black and white striped "horses" were neat to see too.
