So, you should still be good, unless you over tourqued something>:(

Funny you should mention that...   :'(

did not break, fortunately. overtightened the lock nut on the first valve and now it and the set screw are inseparable. No worries, parts on order. Just means I get to wait a week or two longer as I'm heading out of town to the beach ...

So were you using John Boy and Billy's Torquing Methods? You know, just wrench it down till it strips and then back it off 1/4 turn.  :-[

No, more like Tom Boy's new school method of going 'by the book' a bit too much. Should be able to rely upon the feel and not an arbitrary tool to indicate if the right amount of torque is applied - Lord knows I've messed up enough bolts in my life to have learned that 'snug' is a good thing.

Yep, snug can be a good thing.

Ok, back on topic now.

Everyone that's coming today, look for the guy in the tennis ball green tee shirt,  that would be me.  :)  Yes I don't mind standing out in a croud. Just don't look at me too much (inside joke).

Please be safe! See you in a few hours!

Today was a good day to visit the NC Zoo. I post more later, but those who chose or were forced to change their plans, sure missed out.

Pope,
Nice to see you, Dave and to meet OZ. Enjoyed the time together and walking through the zoo exhibits.
Glad to hear everyones return trip went well, although OZ still has another day to get home.

There were four of us in attendance. Sport Rider (Dave), Buzz (Kim), Oz & The Pope

The ride in (for me) was a nice 72F and little damp. Didn't have to pull out the rain gear thou. Kind of like riding thru a cloud. Anyway it was an enjoyable ride in none the less. I arrived at the zoo at 8:28am. Buzz showed up shortly before 9. Oz had some GPS issues, but still made it there before 9:30. Dave had already made me aware that it would be around 10:30 before he would be able to get there, so the three of us went on in to look around a little, but stayed near the entrance. Sure enough, Dave arrived as planned and we set out to see what the zoo had to offer.

Here are some photos.

We finished up around 12:30. From what I could tell, everyone had a good time. When we left, Dave, Oz & I stopped off at the local Chillies for a bite to eat. Kim had other commitments, so he didn't stay. After a fine meal, Dave headed off to the Concord NC area and Oz & I hit Hwy 42 East for some good two lane country riding. We split up in Sanford NC (US1), and made the rest of our ride alone.

So .... all in all a good day.
