Come one, come all,
Just be sure to call!

Jim's Smokin' Q RTE - May 20
A perennial favorite for those attending RWTW, the food is excellent, and the ride there over Wolfpen Gap is exhilarating.
What more can one ask?

Thanks Tom!

Got email confirmation that Don and Ruby will try to be there. Good thing, too, as it appears we will have a need for adult supervision....

New tire on the front (Avon Cobra) and nearly new on the back. Weather looks to be warm and sunny for Saturday. Great food, good friends. This RTE is looking to be a good one!  See y'all when you get there. Ride safe,

Nice turn out today in Blairsville. Seemed like everyone from greater Atlanta was on the roads, too, but we persevered. Tom will be along with a picture soon...

Had a great turnout and met quite a few new and old COG members today! Thank you to those that came out to Jim's for some great food and conversation. The longest-distance prize went to David Lovelady who came from Birmingham to be with us. Also glad that Stan Tyler, Mike Lane and Don and Ruby Neil made it all the way from their backyard to be with us at one of Blairsville's finest dining establishments. Ram Sanga, Phil LeFrancois, Clark Helton, Ron Simmons (our esteemed SEAD), Glenn Gourneah, and myself rounded out the group (even more so after eating the generous portions provided). It was a great day for a ride to be with friends new and old. Highlight of the day was getting Don Neil's signature on the picture of he and his grandson in the Winter Concourier. Lowlight - losing the left sidebag! Yes, the Unibagger rides again. Somewhere between Jasper and Cartersville it appears the bag opted to seek other options...Thankfully I've got a spare from my earlier episode, and nothing of note was lost in the transaction. Still, if you find it....

Im finally at home Will post more later
Its later
Had a good ride up left the house a little after 5 Google says its about a 4 hour ride up.Went up to Gadsden and worked my way to Rome and in a general easterly direction. No big issues just stayed focused on moving in the correct direction. If you havent eaten at Jims you need to. If you leave there hungry its your own fault. The ride home is divided into 2 parts The good part from Jims across Wolf pen gap down to Dahlonega and Dawsonville and over to 515 where Volcantour turned to his house Part 2 I turned south to Kennesaw for a stop at the Railroad museum. Atlanta traffic is well I cant say what it is but it aint good. Headed to the house with a stop in Villa Rica. Now I know Im not the smartest person around but I have to ask Why is the Highway crew installing a catch fence on the weekend AND its raining. Anyway Finally got home with a lesson learned. That is Rain gear doesnt do any good sitting in the garage.

The food is always good at jimmy's, there is road construction north of Chattanooga and just south of  on I24. i took the same route out and back, but i ran the Eco mode on my 2012 down and regular mode on the way back. I have the decel flash and i had 1 bar left when i got home. So the flash did get slightly better mpg. In Eco mode i ran 206 miles when the low fuel light came on. Regular mode i ran 203 miles and have 1 bar left before low fuel.  It was a nice ride down for lunch. Thanks

Wondered about the weather on your way home, David. It was getting wet on my wife and I as we backtracked to Cartersville in hopes of locating the errant side bag. Glad you got two of your planned stops en route home, and the bike washing was a bonus!
