June 24, Astor Fl to Deland Fl, breakfast and … and …
« on: June 04, 2017, 11:47:35 pm »
 :motonoises: :)

In SteveJ.’s absence during which I’m sure he’s riding, eating, riding, eating many times;
Let's do the same thing.

Let’s start this off by meeting at Sparky’s in Astor (remember pictures of breakfasts on pizza pans).
Roll in and meet between 9 and 9:30, go inside at 9:30 to eat.
 http://www.sparkysplace13.com/

Then we’ll hold until at least a kick stands up at 10:30 at which time you are invited to follow me on my backroads 78 mile ride to lunch or appetizer or refreshment at the St. John’s River Grille just west of Deland. Worth seeing for your own future plans if you’re not familiar with what it has to offer.
http://stjohnsmarinaresort.com/river-grille/

Event is on the CALENDAR.
Map of ride will be coming when I get it connected in next couple days.

RSVP on calendar or here.  Let's ride and eat!

Way to go Roy. I really wish I could make this. Looks like the COG army will be traveling on its stomach...again!
Thanks for stepping up. Steve'll wish he was HERE, not wherever he's out messing around.... ;D

Yep. I've been riding more lately with some retired friends and it seems they're always running to the mountains in the middle of the week.

Maybe I'll do the July one on a Sunday and see if it works.

This is the route, 78 miles, between the two restaurants that I will be riding. We should be at the lunch spot by 12:30.

I made the route in furkote so there are some other files I could send someone by email if they message me and let me know what ones you may want.

Keep in mind the National Rally is this week,
so activity on the forum will be a bit 'slow'

I will probably show up. I'll be in Inverness (actually Bushnell) to get drivers license and get a tag for the trailer.

Can't do that until Monday because I'm not leaving Knoxville until the 22nd. And its not worth it to me to burn the whole distance in one day. So I'll arrive Inverness on the 23rd, fill the truck's tank up and put Stabil in, get some things put into the winter camp storage unit, take a couple things out of it, and then have to kill Saturday and Sunday anyway.

I know so I got it up a week ahead. I'm used to seeing initial interest and then some have life have to make them drop and others join closer to the event as they realize they can. My lack of that had me concerned. I wish it wasn't a work day for you.

I know, I've seen some of their posts from up there.
I was worried summer was affecting interest. I road a chunk of it last weekend (besides breakfast sparky's place has really good pizza). I try to create my routes to keep moving and avoid traffic jams and this is one of them.

I hope you join us. This should kill Saturday in a very 'ride fun'  back road way.

Naw, not playing you, I don't like to push the trike hard enough to pick a rear wheel up or slide in a corner. Too many things can go wrong when it gets to that state of solid mechanics physics.

I normally don't go on rides with the COG kids because I simply can't keep up, and I hate to make folks wait at the turns for me to catch up.

Its not big deal, I'll meet up at the destination by taking a short cut and it should work about right time-wise.

Pretty sure I can make it. Riding straight through from Knoxville to Inverness on the 22nd. Going to VA clinic to register, and to DMV to get drivers license and trailer tag on the 23rd (Friday). So should be good to go.

Should being the operative word. My season so far has been anything but uneventful.
