SE Social At Nationals
« on: May 25, 2017, 12:13:49 am »
Ok, we are trying to organize a SE Social at the 2017 Nationals on Monday evening @ 730pm down at the beach. Ron said he would get some pretzels, chips and such. I'll get some beverages and we can hang out for a couple hours.

We'd like to get a head count, so please reply back so we can have adequate supplies.

Ron. I'm planning on leaving out early Saturday morning with the goal of reaching Memphis. Mapquest puts it at a doable 436 miles just under 7 hrs. LOL The plan anyway.

Ah, you can do that. Hydrate up, stay cool. Stretch every 200 miles or tank of gas. Watch for unmarked cars in TN.

Easy!   Resist the urge to pass every car you catch or you'll find yourself doing 95-100. (or so people tell me... ;) )

Check in is Sunday. Enjoy the ride.

We'll be in a white F-250 pulling a white Work and Play toy hauler with red & black graphics. Leaving Saturday morning and shooting for halfway. Wave when you go by.  :motonoises:

See you there!!

If your slabbing it, Memphis is an easy ride. I-20 to B-ham, North on I-65 to West on I-22. The limited access stops around the TN state line in Memphis, then it is truck city with stop and go traffic until you hit I-240. Memphis roads are crap, just FYI. Be Careful where you stay in Memphis as there are some less desirable areas, kind of like Atlanta. I-22 is a nice road, very little traffic and an easy ride.

Mike Anthony and Strum are talking about riding up from Georgia together. Mike's from the Alpharetta area (he runs the 3rd Thursday Dinner deal for us in Atlanta) and Strum (Stan) is from Blairsville (he's hosting the Lane Splitting event a/k/a RTB soon). If they're headed that way when you are, they might like some company. Or you might/not considering who it is and all... :D

Ron, Kay & I are heading out on Thursday (6/8) to New Orleans for a few nights. We'll be heading up to Lake of the Ozarks via Memphis from New Orleans, arriving Sunday evening. We'll probably be a few hours behind them on Sunday.  :motonoises:

Ok, SE social has been moved from the beach to outside the Atrium building, Don and Ruby have a ground floor room with a patio. Right out side is a nice shade tree and grass lawn area.
