I'm hoping to make this. I know how sit on the bike & steer, I just need to learn some proper riding.

I'll be riding down if I make it.

I'll take responsibilty but must admit I thought reg was handled already as so many other aspects of this event were handled ahead of time.

So - it's in my lap I'll figure it out. I won't rest until Dave has registered Patti(!)

JR, you can wait til March to get a knee, geez man

Ted, we got a lesson in the Alps didn't we? I want more of that repetitious leaning!

Cliff and Bill, come on guys, you can't miss this. It's only just barely in FL = not that far

Cuda, would be great to meet you - hope you can make it.

Heh, when VA gives you a date for major surgery, you don't argue with them. If I don't take the February date, it won't happen until summer, and thats not happening.

Folks,  I don't have enough vacation time left to make this event for the class but I'd love to come up late Friday to camp and see everyone anyway. Maybe I can learn some things by osmosis from the rest of you.  >:(

Looking seriously at making this trip. I'm not much of a camper, does the infield accommodate RV's? I have no actual camping gear (tent, sleeping bag etc) and am spoiled by my version of "camping" in the motor home, not to mention the ease of trailering the bike.

No problem with  bringing an RV. The only issue is they have limited RV specific hookup's so that is on a first come first serve basis.

Has anyone in the group ever attended this SAME kind of event someplace, I have a lot of questions??     When will this event be posted on the  COG calendar?   Any idea how many different groups (and or people) will be using the track on Friday Feb 24.    How many COGERS??

I for one started with the track while a member of another club. They too had an excellent instructor with classroom time and written materials. I could not imagine going out on the track without this. The education I received changed everything about how I think about riding. Their instruction was top-notch as will be ours.

You'll start your day with a riders meeting and Tech inspection then back to the classroom. You'll be learning Concepts that far exceed what you have heard around the campfire. Then you will be escorted out onto the course where you will practice these Concepts at slow speeds. You will have control Riders helping you and talking with you. There will be debriefings at the end of each session and then back into the classroom. Each classroom session will bring forth new material that you can practice on a controlled safe course.

The goal here is not speed. It is Knowledge and Skills. Speed comes later. Riding at a white-knuckle pace around the track only results in you defaulting back to your usual methodology. If you want to learn the concepts you have to go slow enough that you can try new things and make mistakes. You have to go slow if you want to learn how to go fast.

There will be a limit how many sign up. We have set this limit at 25 and we will have 25 people from MSTA. This will be organized into two groups hence limiting the number of bikes on the track and in the classroom. This is a closed event and not open to the public. We will not have Outsiders.

Hey guys and gals - just getting home late on a Sunday night from a long weekend playing benefit concerts for the victims of the recent fires. With the holidays booking all the good musicians even a bum like me can get busy at a time like this.

I will get registration up in the morning. Thanks for your patience. This is going to be great!

I see we have the answer for the two part suit with full zipper, but did we get an answer to the textile question? As in Roadcrafter and similar.

Their website is very specific about leather. I have a Kevlar suit that is approved for MotoGP - and I want to know if they'll accept that. I seem to be calling at odd times bc I'm not catching them on the phone to ask.

Leather only. Fear not they have plenty of track suits for rental at a low price. Makes for great track photos  :great: Did I mention there will be a photographer?

I have a two piece joe rocket leather suit that I use for track days.  it would fit well for a person who is 6 ft and 190 pounds.  I'm now over 220 and it's SNUG around the waist, but still managable.  if anyone wants to borrow it, it is located in Mooresville NC.  PM me and we can make arrangements.

note...it's got scuffs from slidling already built in, so you will look like an expert!   :rotflmao:
