The return to Hohenwald Rally
« on: January 19, 2017, 11:52:54 pm »
Return to Hohenwald Rally, March 31-April2 at the Natchez Trace Wilderness Preserve (formally the KOA) 1363 Napier Rd. Hohenwald Tn. 38462.
> Rally fee $25, Tent camping $17 with shower house nearby, Cabins available for $70-$170 and they also have a Lodge available that has 5 bedrooms that's $275 per night. At press time the Lodge hasn't been booked so if there's a number of us who would be interested in that, I would call asap. Be sure you mention you're with the COG and get a 20% discount on the price I've posted here on the cabins or lodge. to reserve one of those, call Pam or Bill at 931-796-3211. No reservation needed for tent camping.
> Local attractions include the Shiloh Battlefield, Jack Daniels Distillery,The Natchez Trace plus a number of of local Wineries and just good roads in every direction.
> Friday there's a lunch ride planned to the Riverview Restaurant in Ashland City Tn. for Catfish or Steak if the weather cooperates. Friday night supper will be Gumbo or A Low Country Boil depending on the cooks mood.
> Saturday, the local Kawasaki dealer, Barber motorsports has invited us over at 12:00 for hotdogs and has some demos for us, Barber has hosted us before and been very generous so if anybody needs anything maintenance or parts wise, I think they can accommodate you.
> Saturday night supper will be a catered surprise, we haven't picked a menu yet so suggestions would be appreciated.
> And musical entertainment that night will be provided by local musician Kenny D. He's played for us before and is pretty good.
> Any questions about anything call Tim Curtis "tinsailor" 931-362-2792 or Jack McVickers "ltmcvickers" at 251-923-7436 or shoot us an E mail
This will be up on the SE calendar shortly.

As we get into March, I would encourage everyone to go ahead and get registered so we can get a rough count to give to the caterer.

:??:  I'm sorta on the fence for this one. I'd committed to help my step-son do a tile job at his house (near Chicago) that week-end.  >:(

Tile? Just lay down some mulch and poly over it - it'll set up nice over the weekend - time to rally!  :))

Bring him along and punt the tile to another weekend.....

I may come to this one. I was going to the BullFrog rally but my work obligation on Friday of that w/e has continued to expand. Thinking.....

If I'm reading the rally registration page correctly, I can register on site. Is that correct?

I don't know why not, but you'll have to show me or Jack how to do the paperwork.

Don't worry guys. I think I'll be there, so I'll help Jim if need be. (Somebody may have told him to register using his phone, but I don't think he can do it from a rotary phone.)

(Jim, I've got your back, just come on...)    ;)

I don't have one of them new-fangled rotary phones!  I just jiggle the holder for the ear piece and tell the operator who I want to talk to.  :great:

For some reason, I just flashed a memory of Oliver Douglas hanging on the telephone pole talking to NY City from the old tv show Green Acres..
