Two new one day rides on SE calendar
« on: May 01, 2012, 04:59:30 pm »
I recently posted two new rides on the SE calendar. They are both one day events, which we refer to as RTE's ( Ride to Eat ).  The first one is on 5/5 to Ceadr Key and is in conjunction with Brian Buck and his Sport Tour Riders of Central Florida. Brian was the winner of the $1400.00 Ohlins C14 shock, which we gave to him at the Chili Fest in Daytona during COG's Daytona Bike Week celebrations. He was a new member that got put into the drawing, as did his COG sponsor during the membership drive. Brian started this group a couple of years ago as a way to get like minded riders to meet for rides to various Florida locations. We agreed to work together for the benefit of both clubs. A lot of his membership are already COG members. Must be they need more riding.
The second offering is from our own Steve Johnston, the recognized king of Florida RTE's. This St Augustine ride to O'steens Restaurant should be a very popular destination ride for all of the FL & GA riders.
Check both of the rides out on the SE calendar, and show the ride organizers how much you appreciate their efforts by signing up.

Ron:   This is getting scary, I was thinking of the 19th.  But with that not a good date, 26th is not good for me, still be in Ky.  Next is June 2 or June 9.  June 16th and 23rd are already taken.  Next is June 30th.  This is the open Saturdays for me, June 2nd, 9th, or 30th, so all ring in and voice their preference.

As for Q places nearby, there are five or more, one is somewhat new.  Heavy's is the best known, longest in continued operation, and somewhat of a tradition.  Once you have visited you will know what I speak of.    :-)

The 9th could conflict with folks heading to the national, just sayin'. I'll be pulling out the 9th from here.

June 2nd is as good as any for me. If Tom gets done with his painting project, I've got a big deck and lots of fence that I could use some help with painting........ :))  That's my big project for the summer. Along with  new siding on my shop, etc...

I've seen the sign for Heavy's for years but never got around to stopping on my way to/from FL for one reason or the other. I always seemed to be in a hurry.

Well I'll be the one in a hurry the weekend before, but for the weekend of June 2, all is clear so let's just go with a RTE.  That would be at high noon on Saturday, June 2.  Now as to where, give you two choices, Heavy's or Georgia Butts.  So all ring in and let me know your preference.

Just a suggestion, but why don't y'all get your own thread going? You're likely to get more interest & input with a properly headed forum column of its own. This posting losses its relevance as of tomorrow.     Al
