Angel GT's $99.00
« on: July 03, 2017, 12:08:17 pm »
Competition Accessories has standard Angel GT's in OEM size (rear) for $99.00. Not really a fan of these, but for that price I ordered a couple.

Too bad the 55 profile is not available at this price, but a smoking deal nevertheless....

Just a "heads up" - the front Angel GT on sale is 110 vice the 120 OEM.

Great price, I might get a rear although I am already sitting on a set of spares and as I don't get as many miles on the C-14 as I would like :-[

Thanks for the heads up I picked up a rear tire. That's the third deal I picked up on tires from this site over the years. That alone makes the membership worth it.

Just a heads up to everyone: even though it said in stock, they oversold a lot of items and some of you won't get your tires. I ordered one, and some other items on Monday (July 3) and I got an email this morning that I won't be getting some items.

Upsets me that it took this long for them to notify me, now I have to cancel another order from a different vendor for the front tire.

Same here. I hadn't ordered the Angel GTs since I already have 2 sets of spares but I ordered a high-priced Avon rear tire for one of my other bikes and got notified this morning that it had been cancelled along with a pair of boots and some other small items.  My new Schuberth RS1 helmet has been shipped though...

My 2 will be here tomorrow. This was a closeout sale so supplies may have been limited.

Well,
NOT A GOOD DEAL!!!  I received ONE of mine yesterday. Date code of 4912. Which basically means this tire is already 5 years old!!  :-\

Will definitely be sending it back for refund.

Date code on both mine is 4112. I kinda of expected this, there's usually a reason they sell them so cheap. Mine will both be used up by years end so I'm not to bothered by it. 2 fronts will be here tomorrow from Jake Wilson, maybe I'll compare dates.

Called them today. Got a return label and will be sending mine back. Tire feels a lot different than the two '16 date coded ones I have downstairs right now. I'll err on the caution side since I don't need any help in wrecking another bike!   :-[

Those guys are buttheads.  It should have been disclosed in the sale that they were old stock.

They told me they were sold out a couple days after I ordered and cancelled it. Glad they did now. I doubt I would have checked the date codes and I already have a back up tire. So I would not have used the tire since next year.

I question if this should even be legal.  If the tire is expired from age it is unsafe to ride on.  We all know that.  I am sure they do too.  It is not right to make someone else pay with their life for your over stocking mistake.   Ever rode a old tire?  It goes away fast and does not grip for crap.

These tires were being sold at nearly 1/2 price. I think it was kinda a given they wouldn't be fresh out of the mold.

Tires cannot be sold after 7 seven years.  Considering the manufactures have a buffer built in to that. Knowing they could be installed at 7 years & be on a vehicle 5 more, not to mention being out in the elements. That means the lifespan is easily 10 - 15 years. Much like load limits, the C14 rack is rated for 22lbs for example. If you put 24 on it it's mot gonna break, it was underrated because somebody will overload it.

If these tires were being stored another year or two that may be different. My 2 sets will be done in 6 months!

The 2 fronts I just got from Jake Wilson are dated 2314 & 3915, not exactly hot off the press.

As long as they are in a sealed plastic bag they can store just fine for 5 years.. I wont ride on a tire that has been on my bike for 5 years though.
