Softest/Cushiest Ride

I only weight 140#s, ride solo; without the saddlebags. I’m looking for the softest ride possible for bumps. How best to adjust the Preload S-H and the Rebound Screw?

Just start eating fast food, ribs, and ice cream.  It gave me a comfy ride.   :)

Dude, I am 220 and I find C14 on a firm side after years of ADV riding. It's been 2 weeks and I am still adjusting to sporty ride of DuckTape.
As a rule, CCW is soft, CW is hard, same for rebound/compression adjustment CCW less, CW more.
I found middle setting is OK until I get a chance to stop by a performance shop and dial the suspension in.

Base settings
Rear preload 6 full turns CW from full CCW =150lbs   /    Rear Rebound 1 1/4 CCW from full CW
Front preload full CCW =150lbs     /    Front rebound  6 clicks CCW from full CW

Put a zip tie on the fork tube not too tight and push it up to the dust seal. Find a safe piece of road and do a couple firm stops, Don't lock up the tire. Check the tie. You want to keep the tie about 3/4-1" from the bottom. You don't want the forks bottoming out under hard braking. I like to get the front right then adjust the back to get the balance  and handling between both. Adjusting and testing allows you to develop a feel to find the best ride and not sacrifice handling.

I installed pr4 GT's this time and all the road imperfections can be felt through the bars. Not Again. Even riding double with the MRS. it was better but she commented on how much rougher the ride was.

Not possible with those springs and stock shocks.. You at the very least have to replace those springs due to your weight and get the shocks re-valved or better yet
get a Penske for the rear and AK20's for the front. Call Traxxion for details and more info.
It took me a long time to bond with my C14 because my C10 suspension and brakes (major upgrades were done to my C10)   were better than the stock C14 brakes and suspension.. once I fixed those things then I started to ride the 14 more. In stock form the C14 is just plain Harsh no matter how I changed the settings

I am an old motox guy so there are a couple things that I always do with suspension. First is replace the fork fluid. It's never, and I do mean never serviced properly from the factory.
Once that is done do the step test. Stand beside your bike and place your right foot on the left foot peg and push down. The front and rear suspension should compress equally or close to it. Next have someone watch or better video the bikes compression of suspension as you go from standing straddling the bike to sitting. Once this is set take a ride to check rebound. If the front feels real busy soften rebound. If it feels like it's wallowing increase rebound.
There is no specific setting for front or rear based on weight because there is too much variance in spring sag. You just have to go through the aforementioned process of setting your bike up for you.
