Soupy's Lowering link
« on: June 01, 2018, 04:35:40 pm »
Picked up a kickstand and links from a member here for $33.50 ... I did order T-Rex cause I want my centerstand.

Question - How do you get these soupy links on without a center stand, when you are doing it by yourself?  :)
Thanks

Rick

Get a piece of 2X4 and a small floor jack and place it under the exhaust. Barely get the weight off of the rear suspension and rear wheel and swap them out.

After you lower the bike, you will find that it is almost impossible to get the bike on the center stand.

I bought a C stand from Ebay and shortened it 1".
Problem solved.

Installed the TRex links today and have no problem using the center at all, was surprised, no grunting effort needed. I did not measure the links compared to the stock but I don't think it lowered by the 1 1/2 that is advertised.

Don't get me wrong it did lower it but I am not flatfooted but I am also not tippy toed either I feel a lot more confident..
Thanks

Rick
