Changed my rear TPS battery two months ago and will do my front today but the pics made it a lot clearer.   http://forum.cog-online.org/concours-14-zg1400-general-chat-and-tech/replacing-the-tire-pressure-sensor-batteries/msg208949/#msg208949

Without looking, I know that photobucket has changed it's policy on hot-linking to photos from remote places (aka forums) - and are now requiring a $399 annual membership (  :rotflmao: ) -

One place to read about this issue -

https://www.theverge.com/2017/7/4/15919224/photobucket-broken-images-amazon-ebay-etsy-paid-update

This is a web-wide issue for anyone that is being held ransom by photobucket. Time to find a new host and quickly download your albums from ransom-bucket.

I use Imgur for all my image hosting needs.  It's free, and you can link to your images from anywhere (in fact, they even pre-format links to your image for BBCode or other styles if you want).

On the menu bar above is a heading for MEDIA. Cannot pictures be uploaded here and then linked to a thread with no fear of losing them?

Sure but seems half the peeps can't bother or will not learn how to reduce pics to the resolution/size that is allowed.

It's less than 1 MB -  I think something like 350K

If you were to make the longest side 900 pixels or less, it will probably upload
(the final size of a JPG is not only controlled by the size the final photo but also by it's content - the more gradations and more fine details and higher number of colors increases the final file size)

If it works this one has 333k  It is not that small and resolution is good.

I think there are three issues with using the photo uploading and storage provided here in the forum, and why folks prefer something like once free PhotoBucket;

1) the pain of resizing the photo prior to uploading (especially on a smartphone)

2) they want somewhere to store their images anyway - and the COG forum ain't it :-)

3) I think uploaders and viewers prefer their image display full size, allow for sizing and layout (attachements put all images at the bottom making ride reports less flowy),  and not need a click like this

rather than being small, only at the bottom and requiring further action like this

Assuming the COG forum is backed up regularly if not religiously, I would think long term, photos that are posted/attached to the Forum will survive for the longest period of time. Cloud service providers come and go, and links to external sites can change and break. That said, I use an outside provider because it's easier at the moment.  :-[

After having this happen on the old site I used a decade ago, and had to go thru downloading all my files to upload to photopuket, and now being shown insult to injury their new "thing"... all I can say is what I said back then....

What's worse, is the older site I used, made it actually "easy" to bulk download my files, so I could transfer them.... when they announced they wanted to go "pay for use".. and they weren't asking $400.. it was like$10 a month...
PB, in its greed soaked indulgence, has turned that site into a non stop popup generator, with such poor performance even on high speed, that its virtually impossible to download more than one "file folder" per attempt.. its totally abusive, I've got 20 or so folders, and can't get thru one without it getting locked up, and timing out, during every download attempt...
When I finally do get the stuff back on a "data stick", and try to decide where to host again... I'm gonna leave all my stuff up there to gag their system till it gets deleted... just because they had the audacity to "change for greed"... when they already had been degrading the whole experience exponentially for 5 years.. rendering a simple pic link to take forever...

Let them know how you feel, someone needs to start a website to tell them "crammit".... because.....

I'll ask again, as I have done many times before, that our IT team get inn touch with TapA Talk, and work out a softwaree plan to allow us to use them.. they constantly update software... I'm not buying into the old "its not compatable" thing anymore, and since we see issues with the structure we now use, and its the parts used for doing $transactions and such... some thought should be done, and done soon, to upgrade and make a workable platform... as we al bought into the big "this is why we are doing a new and improved website, controlled by COG, it will be great"... story from years ago.
