Avon AM-26 ride report
« on: May 15, 2012, 05:42:18 pm »
Well I have about 500 miles on these babies and the general concensus is me likey them. The ride is smooth, they track straight, they corner good and no wobble or riding on marbles. They are much more responsive than the Pilot GT's I ran for the past 4 years. They are sufficiently scuffed in for the Nationals and they will get a good work out on those Arkansas roads in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to see what kind of mileage I can get out of them.

I like how people throw out the term "spoonin" like it's just that easy.

Surely each and every one of yaz cursed up a blue streak whilst "spoonin"   :truce:

Actually it was the "spoonin" off that was the worst part.

The rear is on the jack-stand balancer... after removing all the old weights... it's looking very positive like it may not need any new ones!  :nananana:

Hey, I think Avon's are pretty easy. Now ME880's are a different story.

I know those Pilot GT's were a bit** to spoon on, these were pretty easy.

Yeah...actually getting 'em on wasn't too terribly bad.  Getting the Mac 100 off the back was a pain.  The PR front wasn't as bad as the rear.

Got it all buttoned up... and took it for a short shakedown tonite... all seems well  8)

Likin' these tahrs so far.  As Jim said... no "marbles" like I had w/ my last set... took 2 long trips on those, but never got used to that.  Just had to put faith into the fact that I wasn't gonna lose control at high rates of speed  :o

Nice to be able to corner again too...
