Yes, a couple of years ago, on the rear tire of my Wee-Strom, a Bridgestone Trail Wing, which was almost new, had about 400 miles on it when a screw went into it. Had to take the wheel/tire to the local Zook shop, as car tire shops would not touch it, and the Zook shop would not do it without the wheel so they could inflate and pressure test it. I think they charged about $20 or so to do it. They used an internal plug/patch and vulcanized it in, and it held for about a thousand miles before I replaced the tire, which is longer than you are really supposed to run a patched tire.
