Race Tech emulators are great
« on: August 03, 2018, 03:03:04 am »
Hi all.  I just rebuilt the frontforks of my 02 Connie with the race tech emulators and springs, along with new bushings and seals.  The spring rate is only .8 instead of 1.1 or 1.2 and the oil is 15 wt.  The oil is 150 mm from the top.  I used the blue spring with 3 pre-load turns and 2 holes drilled in the valve.  I'm almost 300 lbs, but I love this set up.  The ride over surface irregularities is so much better than stock.  The handling of the bike is improved over all speeds.

I know this seems soft based on what I've read on this forum, but I like it. Any issues that I should be worried about with the softer spring?  It's still firmer than stock.

I know.  You can't appreciate the difference just by reading others thoughts on the emulators.  The difference is significant. :great:

i had racetech do mine and it is significantly better.  they put in 1.0 CrS springs, GVEs, there fork oil, etc.  it really improved the handling a lot.  small surface irregularities get soaked up, tire doesn't leave the pavement when going over ripples (esp. in turns), and the nose doesn't dive nearly as bad on hard braking.  what's not to like.

I know this is an old Topic, but wondering of Richard is still monitoring and have you changed your set up in any way?
