shaft drive pin

i'm a bit lost and confused regarding the pin that allows removal of the shaft drive from the engine block.  my question is does the pin that disengages the shaft drive does the pin take a spring or just inserts?

There is a spring behind the roll pin. This is the PN I believe.

so if i understand correctly a spring goes inside the pin to maintain presure on pin position
