In 2017 there were a handful of Connies, six or so. This years Iron Butt Rally only had three Kaws total, two being C14s, both 2012 models. Mike Riley's went down on Leg 2, Mike is ok but the Connie wasn't able to continue. My Connie was holding up well, until the mid way through the third leg when the battery decided to cook while down in the canyons in Utah. I managed to get rolling again the next morning and make it back to the finish with 3 minutes to spare before the window closed. I placed 52nd out 100+ riders, I finished with 91,000 points which was enough to qualify me as a Finisher. In 2017 I broke down on day six and am happy to have been given the opportunity to handled as we say in the IBA "Unfinished Business". Its pretty obvious that the BMWs, FJRs, and Goldwings are the bikes of choice in the IBR, and not so much for the Concours. Regardless, I love this machine and was proud to represent COG in the IBR. Thanks, Byrdman
