Clymers Manuals by date

OK guys I recently got a Clymers Manual that says 1986-2004 on the cover. My Connie is an 2006. I was under the impression that the bikes are nearly identical from 1986-2006, with only very minor variations. Is this not true? What changed from 2004-2006?
