Yes, 261 aka Greer Loop is interesting, short, but interesting. Take it to 273 then Northwest on 273 and back west on 260 to 73, take that to 60/77 and go to the Salt River Canyon and then down to Globe for Lunch and then go back....or if you desire to see Saguaro cactus continue down to Hayden and around to Superior and then return to Springerville any way you'd like to. Robert Church and I did that last year. I didn't stop to take any photos of the Saguaro though.Good afternoon. I’m looking to find new interesting roads in that area on Friday aside from 191, 180 and 152. Anyone know of PAVED roads to explore? 261 west of Springerville looks interesting.
Enjoy your anniversary at the Reed's Lodge and the Springerville area! Hope you will reconsider and ride with us in October.I guess restaurants in Springerville are having a tough time. The pizza place we group ordered from 2 years ago went out of business, and now I see that the Mexican place across the street from Reed's is showing on Google Maps as permanently closed. My wife and I are headed up the 191 tommorrow to celebrate our anniversary, staying at Reeds then back home to Tucson. Highly doubtful that I will make the Devil's Cut ride in a few weeks.
We ended up eating at Avery's BBQ on HWY 60 heading out town, it was pretty good. The mexican across the street from Reed's is 100% closed, the signs have been removed from the building and it is empty.I guess restaurants in Springerville are having a tough time. coachtony thank's for the tip about the reed's motor lodge tree. i am staying there in two weeks and will avoid it. amazing what you can learn from the COG forum! My wife and I are going to be joining the Devil's Cut this year! We were just at Reed's a few weeks ago, and I learned the hard way, DO NOT park under the tree in this picture, it drips sap terribly! My bike was covered in it.
My wife's name is Vanessa and she has put 11000 miles on her GS in a little over a year.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!
So much for that! My wife won't be coming with me. She either tore a muscle, or possibly has a hernia. Either way, the Doctor thinks riding multiple days on her motorcycle is not a good plan. I will be there! See you all soon!My wife and I are going to be joining the Devil's Cut this year! I believe this is in New Mexico... but Marty or Doug will let us know for sure.I see you were searching for extra terrestrial intelligence, or maybe calling ET?
That is some array of dishes!
If this is not - there is a very large array of dishes in San Agustin, NM that is most impressive in scale.
