It's that time of year. I wanted to show an easy way to seat the seals for anybody that may be curious. You'll see in the pictures an aluminum driver above the seal as its slid onto the lower leg. Then slide the lower leg into the upper leg, this gives perfect alignment and location for the seal. One or 2 light impacts from the lower lug onto the aluminum driver seats the seal. Be sure the "open" side of the seal goes in first.

The other picture just shows the removal or tightening of the cartridge inside the lower tube.

I did same but made mine from PVC pipe. I need to do a dump and flush and get that fresh fluid feel back

What did you have on the vice jaws?

Very cheap and old plastic jaw liners held on with integral magnets. The vee isn't very big but does give an upper and lower contact point, good enough to hold the tube straight, but you wouldn't/couldn't tighten enough keep the tube from spinning. I just did a quick search and found many such jaws available, and probably better. Aluminum is also available and would work just fine.
