Names Kevin. Bought a 2012 C14 in May of this year. Had 18k when I bough it, ending the year with 22k on the odo. Also have a Yamaha Mt-09. Great bike to do dumb stuff on but after an hour my ass hurts. Bought the connie to be able to do longer rides and still be able to twist the throttle and have fun.

Overall the bike is great and love riding it. When I bought the bike it was overall stock. Did some routine maintenance; Changed coolant, brake/clutch fluid, cleaned air filter, changed shaft gear oil. Put a lithum battery in becuase some dumbass left the key on and killed the old battery. Whoops 🤭 Dealership put new tires on and new spark plugs.

Now the weather is cold in WNY I've got plans on what needs to be worked on this winter. Mainly repalcing the rear shock and trying to replace the battery in the tpms.

Big shout out to Steve at shoodabeen, just before the weather got to cold sent the ecu to him to get the mountain runner premium flash and only was able to take the bike out for an hour or so after the ecu came back but just from the little ride I could tell it was like a brand new bike. Lower gears much smoother and power smoother through out the rev range. Big thank you Steve, keep up the good work

Welcome, if ur tires still have plenty of tread on them, there is a way to replace the tpms batts without removing the tires. Do a search for tpms batts. Ull be looking for one that uses Irwin clamps to break the bead and squish/compress the tire over to allow access to the tpms. Then it's just removal and instll.a new batt..

Welcome, fun bikes to farkle and make your own. The flash made the difference between me keeping my 2013 and not.

Welcome Kevin! I also have a 2012, but at almost 40k miles.
That's are a LOT of very knowledgeable people here, so don't be afraid to ask.

@kevin9449132 Welcome to the COG. Check out the technical and how-to documents, will be helpful to speed your acquaintance with the C-14. Sounds you’ve already been digging in.

I see you have already been welcomed by @connie_rider. You are lucky to have purchased a 2012, there are certain 'colors' that perceptually underperform. (Hint: Stay away from red, if you don't already know the backstory you'll learn in no time... lol)

Western NY is your home, are you within the snow belt?

See you around - glad you landed at the Concours Owners Group!

Wayne, Carol & Blue

Yeah you better watch out for Ted. He has delusional thoughts about the color red.

Thanks everyone. Been stalking the site for a little while, reading different posts on repairs and mods. Lots of good information on this bike and lots of smart people.

My bikes the maroon/purple ish color so hopefully I'm okay. I live about 10 miles from lake Ontario so most lake effect snow blows over.

Welcome to Cog Kevin!
You didn't mention if the bike has had the valves adjusted yet. If it hasn't, you should consider it soon. It's recommended at 15K.
