1983 VF750F Interceptor

When getting 1st street bike at 16 I sat on the new 83 Honda Interceptor at the dealer. What a dream feeling. Settled for a Suzuki 1983 GS450 ez.

In the mid 90s picked this up in Grand Junction Co.

In the early 2000s found Honda Racing selling exhaust used for Freddie Spencer on one and purchased.

About the same time found a fairing on eBay that a guy in Texas ordered from Germany and when waiting shipment he totaled his interceptor back in 1983. I purchased and was in original box un painted. I put it on and drew up paint scheme I wanted for fairing to be similar to the 2003 anniversary Interceptors Honda put out that year. Only had fairing painted that cost me $1200 due to how dry the fiberglass was I was told. Can’t remember how many coats.

In 2010 or so I traded for a 4wheller after riding maybe once a year.

Regretted it weeks after.

Back in the 90s wasn’t bad. But in 2000s seemed so ancient when riding. I’d hit turns and felt like a tank compared to liter bike.

Loaded up video That shows the beauty and the old school V4 sound.

Wow! Just a couple days ago i was wishing i still had my 84 vf700f interceptor. Mine was red and white. Loved that bike. Sold her in 98 and picked up my new c10.

Yes 700.. they had that tariff thing going on then, and the 700's were easily $500 bucks cheaper..

Pretty bike! I had a 500 and a 700.

Nice bike! I drooled over them too when they came out but thought the KZ750 was old school at the time but still fast, and just fine for me but too expensive so I got my holdover '82 KZ55A in September of '83.

I seriously considered the Honda VF750F Honda Interceptor in 1983 but for whatever reason went with the Honda CB1100F. I bought it brand new off showroom floor. I wish I still had that bike!

As a C-10 owner I don't have to wax nostalgic, I still have an 80's bike. A new KLR is another way to harken back to the old days but with a brand new machine. ;) Supposedly, they finally updated the doohickey.

Though I regret selling the GT380. Brrrrding-ding-ding.

Did look really hard at a VF500F "Miniceptor" back in the mid-90s. Ended up with a CB400T instead. The VF would have made keeping up with my friend's F3 a bit easier.

I remember a Sunday morning in Vienna 1984 on the 'Gürtel' a broad road around the inner Districts.
I worked at an insurance and was wearing my business clothes. A 'Real biker' with a brand new Honda Vf1000r stopped at a traffic light beides me and started: 'What a piece of sh.. do you own. You look to have money. I show you what a real motorcycle can do ...'
The next red traffic light he was a bit silent and didn't reply my question:'What's wrong with your Honda? Seems to have some engine damage ...?'
Beautiful Honda, but i miss my kz1000a turbo
