Saturday Ride for the CL77

Took the ’67 CL77 for a nice lunch run down to Williamsburg with a good friend of mine this past Saturday. It turned out to be a mid-80’s day, but the tree pollen was horrific so you were always in this yellow cloud that almost looked like a haboob. Good sandwich (Prosciutto with Provolone & Roasted Tomatoes on Focaccia) at the Cheese Shop and enjoyed watching the tourists acting like typical tourists.

The basic route took us down Rte. 10 to Surry and crossing the James River on the Jamestown Ferry, did a short jaunt along the Colonial Parkway to lunch, then ran the popular State Route 5 back up to Richmond. It’s our popular Five & Dime ride, but this time we rode it in reverse.

Below pix is my friend with his Dakar and my CL on the Jamestown Ferry during the crossing. The couple in front on the Harley were from Dinwiddie, VA.

Beautiful!
Thank you.

Still need to get the tank painted, clear coated, and the knee pads installed.

That Thai aftermarket seat looks nice, but it gets hard as a rock on one's backside around the 75-mile mark. Never had that issue on my original '67 back in the early '70's, even after consecutive 300-mile days, so installed an Air Hawk seat pad that came in today to see if that helps.

FWIW - That bungee is elevating a foot peg to give a little more side clearance for the front wheel of the Ryker.
