I'm going to be there for this trip to Mt. Diablo.  Saturday is a little short notice, but works for me.

I'll either be at the 9AM meetup in Elk Grove or go straight to the 10AM breakfast in Rio Vista.

Hope some other SWesties can make it.

A great day and a fun ride.

Thanks to Buddy Scherr and the SacCOG gang for setting it up and leading the way.

We rode out of Sacramento into the Delta for a pleasant morning ride along the rivers and levees. Stopping to a tasty breakfast on the balcony over the water at the Point Restaurant in Rio Vista. Hope the folks sitting close by weren't to offended by the slightly questionable topics and laughter.

We took a short jaunt out in the rolling hills near Rio Vista and the Delta, then jumped back on to the levee roads and rode of for Mt. Diablo State Park - which included lots of sweeps, some drawbridges, a bit of freeway, few miles of light to light townie traffic and the Antioch Bridge

Once we got to Mt. Diablo, we climbed the road with tons of tight turns and lots of bicyclists heading up and down. "Do not pass bikes in blind curves" signs were everywhere, just like the bikes. Even with the low speed limit, it's a fun little road.

Then the group spent a good hour at the summit. We spent our time with; visitor center, observatory deck, watching hang gliders, taking in the amazing views, snacking on the treats people packed along and of course, talking riding, motorcycles and life.  You could see San Francisco, Livermore, Tracy, Modesto, Stockton, Sacramento and so much more in the amazing 360 degrees of vistas.

Then we headed back down the mountain with riders breaking off for home when their time/road came.

Awesome day.
