T-Rex Crash Bars?

I just installed a set (front and rear) and while they seem well made and engineered, the bag guards mount to the passenger peg brackets, which are welded to the rear sub-frame lower legs. While wrestling them into place, I can see there is a bit of flex in the overall structure. I don't know what would give first, but I suspect with the right kind of impact, the welds might break, or the lower bar bend.

In contrast, an impact on the bag without a guard in place looks like it would transmit the force in two places to the more robust upper leg of the subframe, in addition to the lower leg, spreading the force out over a much larger area.

Has anyone had any real-world experience with T-Rex crash bars, specifically the rear bag protectors?

Thanks.

While we were on a ride, one of the riders fell over while turning around on a narrow street.
He had the T-Rex crash bars and they protected the bags well.
But, the welds you mentioned did break. He had to do a reweld after returning home.

Ride safe, Ted
