tire sizes, not type

In fact it is not wise to put a real 120 tire on a 94+ front rim. The OEM tire is not really a 120.

AS always advice is worth every penny you paid for it. But I'd have to say no. The extra 10mm width (shared on bothsides 5mm each) shouldn't be any issue. Hell we have riders putting 130 wing sized tires on the front and 160 wings on the back without any "safety" issues. Granted though you will have a different handling bike as a result, but nothing that you shouldn't be able to get used to after a 100 or so miles. AKA "2linby" That's 2-lin-by folks! Bob - there's a difference between recommended rim widths for a bias and radials. radials require wider rims due to thier construction. 130 bias are spec'ed for 3" rims, but the 120 radial is spec'ed for 3.5". also I think the Q was for the earlier rim, iirc it was 2.15 or 2.5"? that rim is actually built for a 100 series tire. steve Shleper of the 7th gear unit and performance exhaust cam sprockets. this all leaves me a little confused, wondering if I use a bias tire I can go wider? but as I will go with a radial I should stay with a 110, though a 120 should fit with no problems? there must be brothers out there who have mounted a 120 on an old 110 rim and could report their experiance.

But isn't a 120 radial the stock recommended size tire in the manual as mentioned by Kawa for the 94+ Connies? 2003 Concours, 47K COG #6953 IBA 28004 http://mysite.verizon.net/slybones/Concours/connieMain.htm

I put the 'Wing' size front & rear on my '06 and had a better ride but slower handling. After 2K miles I'm used to change but don't know if I'd do it again.
