NER Track Day with Tony's Track Days
Sunday July 20 @ 9:00am
Thompson Speedway
Thompson, CT (map)
Track Days are a great way to improve your riding and they are a blast. Not only are you able to repeat the same curves over and over with no threat of deer, obstacles, turning cars, or law enforcement, but you also receive classroom instruction and feedback on your riding. Tony's does a great job of helping new track riders to have a great day while learning a lot. You do not need a sport bike to have fun: Ed's Motorcycle Track Day
This event will take place at the new Thompson Speedway Road Course: http://www.tonystrackdays.com/category/8931/ct-track-info.htm
Sign up here on Tony's website: http://www.tonystrackdays.com/category/7807/registration-and-pricing.htm. The price is $270 for non-members. Riders are separated into 3 groups. The beginner group is not intimidating at all.
Here is a link of what rider's need. It tends to mostly be gear that many riders have anyway (2 piece textile or leather suit that zips together, full face or modular helmet, good boots & gloves, and a back protector): http://www.tonystrackdays.com/category/3375/rider-preparation.htm
Here is a link to bike preparation (It took me less that 15 minutes at the track). The main things are removing or taping over mirrors with blue painter's tape, taping glass headlamps, removing fuses for all lights, and wiring the oil filter (piece of cake): http://www.tonystrackdays.com/category/99/bike-preparation.htm
Here is a typical day: http://www.tonystrackdays.com/category/3393/typical-day.htm
Here is some safety info: http://www.tonystrackdays.com/category/3665/safety-rules-and-groups.htm
Come join us for a great day!
