1. Upper wings to bring cooler air to my legs and body 2. Bar end weights to calm the vibrations 3. Foot Peg end weights to calm the vibrations 4. Heated Gloves, Boots and Jacket plug-ins These simple changes, I believe, would make my C10 just that much more comfortable. Option 4 would come into play this winter, of course. I haven't seen foot peg end weights listed anywhere, though. Does anyone make foot pegs out of solid lead? :lol: : 42k miles
 
Not raining on the show but here is my thoughts. More air is not better if all it is doing is dehydrating you. You need a reasonable amount of air to evaporate the sweat from you and not so much as to rip the water out of your body. I am just now learning the difference but not how to control it yet. Best mod I have for heat at the legs and waist is the highway pegs but only help on hwy. Try to get the bike running with less vibrations and you will be fine with stock bar end weights and padded gloves. I have had three Connies and some do just buzz more then others but none should make you numb with gloves on. I never felt I needed heated boots but the coldest I ride is about freezing. The bike always keeps me warm but that is with the OEM fairing extenders on. Check them out if you never seen them. I ride in the cold and that takes some careful monitoring of weather radar. don't mess with wet and cold combined. in northeast PA your riding season is over in October unless you have heated gear. I've rode down to 19 degrees on connie comfortably with my Gerbing gear. best 300 bucks i ever spent for the liner, controller, and gloves. don't mess with other brands. I bought gerbing due to the reputation of the gear. the gloves actually work unlike the TM Synergy gloves. the single controller works fine for me. I don't need the gloves and liner to work on their own circuit but that's up to you. the gloves come up to temperature fine and stay there. Gerbings warranty is lifetime. If anything goes wrong, send it to them and they'll fix it. I don't have to mess with the controller dangling from the liner either. only cordage I have to deal with is a 1 foot plug lead coming out of the bottom of the liner to connect to the bike. the stuff has worked flawlessly since the day I installed it on the bike. controller velcros to the side of my tank bra. cold on my feet has not been an issue sofar but I don't do 100 mile rides in the winter either. my riding is limited to short runs/commutes to work. feet have been fine with thick socks and my CBT'Ls or On-Roads. I usually wear jeans under a pair of textile overpants, with my 2/3 length touring jacket over Gerbing jacket liner + the heated gloves I'm good to go. No issue with the legs or feet, I keep my knees and feet tucked in tight around the fairing to catch the warm air coming off the engine. long story short, all you need is Gerbing liner and gloves to deal with the cold on connie. don't even consider anything but Gerbing. I don't know how BMW or 'Stich Kanetsu stuff is so I can't speak for them. Only comparing what I've heard about the Tourmaster stuff from the other forum. 80% of users say the gloves are almost useless and they've had problems with the gear. I just ran a long trip that took me down to the deep south, installed some airwings before the trip and I like them. they really do cool the legs down.
 
Before putting on the bar weights go to a dive shop and get some shot. They have some that is really fine and packs well. I have done this and the bar weights and I don't notice the vibrations at all and I just did the saddle sore 1k. Respectfully Yours! Wess Heavner COG #8010 CDA #0239

I put on Heli 1.5" handlbar risers and love them to death. I don't notice the vibes at all anymore just because my weight is off of my hands and wrists. Sooo much more comfortable. I also use the throttle meister (flap) that allows me to use my palm to push the throttle. Some people also use a throttle lock or bar end weights. One you might want to really consider is using fuel filters. I currently have a Givi windscreen but am thinking about a Cee bailys. Although many like the Rifle. Another one I'd really like one day is the 55L Givi topbox with the backrest and rack added. Wow lots of $$$ though. I currently have dyna beeds (don't use in Metzler's) that I'll put in my front tire soon and should keep it from cupping... So they say. We'll see. As an alternative there is some kinda goo you can use that'll balance your tires like the beads but will also prevent flat tires. There are brighter lights you can get, different tires, hwy pegs, speakers, trailer hitch, heated grips, different air filter, power outlet, better brakes or suspention, more power, side car, you think of it and someone out there's done it. Tank bags are great for travelling. That's all I can think of. Have fun! Grizzly
