Do you drink or take drugs and ride?

Before I started riding I made a vow to never drink and ride. The HURT report conclusions were clear to me. At the end of the day I'll have a few but not if I have to ride anywhere. I do occassionally take an Advil if I am experiencing some pain during the ride (chronic back pain etc). Ride safe. I haven't had a drink in a little over 23 years and never really did drugs. When I was drinking about the only smart thing I did was realize I drank to much to ride motorcycles. Drinking and driving = bad, drinking and riding = death sentence.

I even worry about the riders that had a few drinks last night. I have seen a few of you with less then bright eyes in the morning. ---------------------------------- I will answer any question. It is up to you to figure out if I should have.

I ride for the thrill of being out in the air and sunshine zipping across the surface of the Earth. Why in the world would I want to cloud that up with alcohol or drugs? Riding IS a drug! Plus, they haven't made it illegal yet, though they're always trying to somewhere in this country it seems.

1 for me. With all the cagers with cell phones and other distractions I want to have a clear head and concentrate on riding and my surroundings.
27 years after Harry Hurt prepared the famed report, the statistics still show about 45% of motorcycle fatalities are due to alcohol impairment. I got my motorcycle as an alternative to drinking. And since gas is cheaper than good beer, I figure I'm saving money every time I spend my Saturday riding instead of drinking (I won't mix the two).

I may have one drink occasionally, and sometimes another one several hours later.
