Extended warranty

Went in to cut a deal with the Kawasaki dealer and He offered me a extended three year warranty for $500. I ask him if this was the factory or third party insurance company ? He said it was Kawasaki . Has anyone had experence with this warranty and is it worth getting ?

Hi, You should check out the post about the Kawasaki extended warrant on this board.  The extended warranty supplements your standard 3-year warranty that comes with the bike.  You can purchase the extended warranty at any time before the original 3-year one expires.  I've had my C14 for 6 months and will be buying an extended warranty soon.  I'm sure it will help the resale value of the bike if and when I sell the bike as the original and any extended warranties are transferable to the new owner.

The $500 price quoted by your dealer isn't too bad, certainly not as bad as some dealers try to squeeze out of you.  If you check out the sticky post you can purchase the 3 year extended warranty for $339 from a dealer mentioned in the post.

I hope this helps.  I'm quite new to new bikes with warranties, so please correct me if I've got any mistakes.

I'm glad I went with the extended from Ultimate. I just had to have the stronger spring installed in my ignition. It's already paid for itself on my 08.

Ditto, bought mine (extra 36 months) online from ultimate for $339 (must deal with owner).  He has the best no hassle extended factory warranty pricing I've seen.  Might be able to haggle a dealer down but Ultimate is a no hassle deal and it's a factory Kawasaki Good Times plan. Just follow the instructions in the "Man of Blues" thread.
