OK, so this may not be a fair comparison, as I'm comparing some general characteristics on my Garmin 2730 and 2730 (and an older PDA-based Garmin) against TomTom Navigator 6 installed on my new HTC TYTN II PDA phone. But at a first glance, the TomTom software is just so easy to use. And d@mn is it quick... Plotting a route takes one or two seconds. Acquiring a signal is a fraction of the time versus the Garmin units. A re-route takes 1 or 2 seconds. Even the screen is crisper and clearer, and sized between the 2730 and the 76CSx. It weighs about the same as the CSX, and is half the size, even with the bigger screen. Great touch screen, very legible at car screen distances: even if the characters are small, they are clean and crisp. Much, much more readable than the CSX, and I'd say more readable than the 2730 as well. I had to purchase a bigger MicroSD card (I got an 8Gb MicsroSDHC unit for under $50) to store the maps, but then I had to do the same for the 76. And the card is much bigger (to store music and so on) than the memeory on the 2730. I broke my 2730 screen a few weeks back, now apart from XM radio, weather, and traffic, I don't know that I will go back to it.
