Laughlin River Run 2013

I thought I saw a few people talking about the Laughlin River Run, so I figured I'd dedicate a thread to it.  It's coming up 4/24-4/28.

I've lived in the greater Las Vegas-Henderson-Boulder City-Pahrump-Laughlin-Bullhead City-Mesquite-Primm metro area  ;D for 6 years now and I've never been to it, so I figured I'd check it out this year, with at least a day trip down for one day.

Any COG people going?

Anyone been and can say what day(s) might be best?  What it's like?  Maybe it's a zoo, but is it a fun zoo?  Maybe at least we can at least have a COG meet up if people are coming into the area.  Official website below:

Brian, My wife and I are going out there for the crazy days of Friday through Sunday. We are staying outside of Laughlin and right now going with a group of other riders on Friday. We were there last year for the first time, we went Wednesday,Thursday and came back Friday and it was fun. Lots of exhibits, vendors, Motorcycle makers and other riders (Mostly Harleys)  Love to see other COG riders there. We live in Southern California near Mission Viejo  Hopefully in the next couple of weeks we can rustle up a meet up out there! Thanks for getting it started.  :motonoises:  :beerchug:

Be advised!  There is always a very heavy and heavy handed enforcement of all laws during Bike Week.  We live on the other side the river and will generally take a river taxi to the Laughlin side.  I've seen Vegas Metro use Nissan Centra's as unmarked vehicles to make stops and busts.  Be mindful and careful during Bike Week.  As for me, our bike stays in the garage all week long or we'll head for the high country for the weekend.

I live in Bullhead but will be up in Prescott, AZ for a meet & greet with other COGer's from AZ.

If it all gets too crazy cross the river to the AZ side and take a ride up to Oatman or go north east above Kingman on the Mother Road to Hackberry.  If you take the Mother Road all the way to Seligman you can have lunch at the Road Kill Cafe. :beerchug:

Have a good time, be safe, there will be lots of bikes on the local roads. :motonoises:

Wife and I are leaving in a week.......going with a local group if it works out. Anybody else out there going from SoCal?  :motonoises:

I can't make it yet again, but if you go through Amboy and stop at Roy's, SOCAL CMA will be there running an aid station, camping out over the weekend, and running a pick up service for the freeway near there.  Not that Connie's will need it, but some of those other bikes  :nananana:

If you stop at Roy's tell the CMA'ers "Bur said to say Hi".

I accidentally stumbled into Laughlin on the weekend of one of these runs. Lots of HD riders and I think the next year the Hells Angels and the Mongols got into a shoot out in one of the casino's. Doesn't stike me as a Connie type of ride, but it is very interesting!

Leaving Friday morning coming back Sunday afternoon. Anyone from the area heading out in the morning that wants company let me know. Otherwise I will keep my eyes peeled for other Connie riders. If we can make time we will try to make the Meet and Greet on Saturday. How long would it take to go from Laughlin to Prescott maybe 2 and half hours? Also is running down the 93 the best way to go or take the 89 from the 40?  :motonoises:

That would be Cool Russ. I'm leaving Sat morn for Prescott. 163 across the bridge to Bullhead turns into the 68 through golden valley into Kingman. Nice ride through some low mountains. Jump the 40 from Kingman to 93 so. Left on 96/97 through Kirkland to the 89 into Prescott. About 2.5/3 hrs. Nice ride. If you want to meet Sat Morn in Kingman around 8:30 let me know.

Kingman 8:30am sounds pretty good if we get up early enough......I will PM you with my cell number just in case.  :motonoises:
