Mine was witnessed by a number of COGers... I pulled into the Lewis & Clark on my C14 got my room key and whipped around to my room to drop my gear off. Then I thought that I'd bring the bike around to the front for all to admire. I put the sidestand down (so I think) onto the soft broken asphalt with a slight incline. I turn and walk way only to hear the sound of plastic hitting the ground! The only damage was scratches to the saddlebag, lower left fairing and some more extensive scratches to the underside of the left mirror. Lesson learned... Don't assume that the kickstand is all the way deployed on loose/soft/broken asphalt on (even) a slight incline... Or run away faster yelling... "That's not MY bike!!!" CDA number please. Ray, CDA0273. That's a bummer but I'm glad to hear the damage was minimal. That must be one surprising sound especially after you think the bike is safe. I like the "That's not MY bike" comment. Greg, the key is that you have to LOOK like someone else did it... Kinda like farting in a room full of people and looking at your intended victim and chastise them for being the classless animal the they (you) are... :eg: Even though they know (and YOU know) that YOU farted... They'll be the one blushing and stuttering/prattling that it wasn't them... :blush: It's all in the perception! Thanks for my number... I'm glad I got that outta the way!
