Tech Session-Vermont-Aug 24/Pics added!

docdan

Moped
I checked my calendar and came of with these possible dates for an impromtu tech session:

July 20
August 24
September 21

Just wondering what dates would work for other folks (especially the ones teaching me to do a C10 valve adjust) to attend this possible tech session at my place in Central VT(Brandon).  Would need to have others who are knowledgeable about various maintenance and bring tools (I have a limited amount).

Please respond so I can plan and get things set on my end.  I would supply food and beverage.  Please let me know what works.

I set the date for August 24.

If anyone is interested in seeing how to do a valve adjust on a C-10 my garage will be open! Another COG member has agreed to guide me through my first valve adjust.

It would be great to maybe have a few other Coggers.

Perhaps somebody has a new farkle they want to install while around other Coggers?!  ;D

Just getting the word out.  I will provide food and drink to folks who show up but it would be nice to know in advance if you plan on stopping by.

Thanks for looking!

I'm free that w/e but it is about a 5 hr. ride for me. I'd consider coming up but...any cheap motels nearby?
I work at the visiotrs center so I'll check tonight!

I have some vacation time coming and some nice and cooler roads up that way so I will look into it. I'll let you know a couple of weeks before for sure. Thanks for hosting.

Definitely some nice roads in VT!

Thanks for all the good lodging info Dan. I may just come up and hang out at the Brandon Motor Inn. It looks very relaxing!!!  :)

Nice place and its only about 5 miles from my house!  Just let me know before so I can plan.

I'd love to attend this, but a bit too far. My wife and I toured New England last summer by car and had a great time. Definitely local road potential!

Ok planning out our trip now. Trying to tie this in on the tail end of the trip. I will give you a definite in a couple of days. Going to be with GF so we may not stay tooooo looong. I will pack steering head spanner if needed.

Sounds good Bob!  WillyP is planning on guiding me through a valve adjust so I'm not sure the steering spanner is needed.

Waiting to hear from others as well.  If any others have a mod or just want to learn please let me know!  :great:

More to come...

Thinking of staying at the Mt Snow Inn, I stayed at the Grand Summit at the national rally. Do you guys know anything about this place, across the street from Mt Snow. Pay for 2 nights stay third night free. Might make a good home base. Looks like a good hour or two ride north to Brandon.

Not trying to talk you out of Mt. Snow. But another possibility could be Rutland. It's fairly close to Brandon and has quite a few places to make a home base. And a lot of them are in close proximity to food and other things if you like to walk instead of ride at the end of the day. Just a thought.

I do not-I camped at the National.

Although I have stayed at the Kitzof Inn and they have a great breakfast that's included! http://www.kitzhof.com/

Cap'n Bob is correct in that Rutland offers a good base being centrally located however, it is a congested city(ok  :-[-it's big in Vermont terms!)

Trying to get a rear tire problem fixed by mfg.
Not sure if bike will be back together by Saturday.
Sorry for the late notice but as you know sh$$ happens.

That's unfortunate!  Well at any rate let me know if you change your plans.
The garage will be open and I will be at least adding some MondoMoto LED driving  lights, changing the fuel filter, and hopefully doing a valve adjust!

No problem!  Hope you still get to take your trip.

The day was successful and my valves are in top shape now thanks to the guidance of  WillyP!  :great:  I'll be posting some pics soon.

As promised, here are the pics of the valve job:
